PRODUCE-CLRK

Basic Purpose: To provide support to the produce manager by ensuring accurately displayed price markings, replenish product supplies and properly rotate merchandise according to store policies and procedures.

Major Responsibilities:

  1. Provide customer service through friendly, courteous, fair and honest treatment of all customers. Maintain service levels on sales floor.

  1. Assist in building store displays for maximum sales and turnover. Possess knowledge of department product mix, including, but not limited to, variety, taste, and preparation of items.

  1. Follow approved procedures for receiving product, price marking and restocking to ensure product/quality integrity.

  1. Assist in ordering and maintaining inventory control by providing department manager with assistance in inventory counts. Accurately record invoice documents, when necessary.

  1. Replenish merchandise on store shelves as needed. Load/Unload delivery trucks.

  1. Handle damaged and spoiled products according to Company policy and assist in controlling the level of such goods.

  1. Maintain a professional appearance by adhering to the Company’s dress policy.

  1. Follow all Company policies and procedures.

  1. Possess ability to perform all duties of a cashier when necessary.

  1. Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands and Environment:

The position of produce stock clerk requires standing or walking during the majority of the time. Occasional lifting up to 50lbs is required. Produce stock clerks should be physically able to perform all jobs/tasks associated with all aspects of store operations.

The majority of tasks will be performed within the confines of the store, with some tasks being outdoors and in temperature controlled rooms within the store.

Minimum Requirements for Position:

  • Experience: Previous experience helpful, but not necessary.
  • Computer Experience: N/A
