Product Control Analyst (Bank I P&L reporting I Up to 4k)

The Job

  • Actively participate in the end-of-day P&L production process, including data extraction, validation, and preliminary variance analysis for specific financial instruments.
  • Execute daily checks and investigations of financial data across different systems, specifically focusing on identifying and resolving discrepancies related to trade booking, market data, corporate actions, and conducting off-market checks.
  • Contribute to the documentation and update of desktop procedures for core product control tasks, ensuring alignment with internal control standards and audit requirements.
  • Liaise with Front Office traders and Middle Office support to resolve P&L queries and trade booking discrepancies on a timely basis, documenting resolutions for audit trails.
  • Assist in the preparation of month-end close activities, including journal entries, balance sheet substantiation, and preliminary commentary on P&L drivers for review by senior controllers.

The Talent

  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking or a related discipline.
  • Basic understanding of financial products such as bonds, equities, FX or derivatives.
  • Strong accounting fundamentals, including knowledge of P&L and balance sheet concepts.
  • Intermediate Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and data analysis.
  • Meticulous and analytical, with the ability to investigate discrepancies and work with multiple stakeholders.
