Product & Design Intern (Tabby Image)
Summary
A six-month, full-time paid product and design internship at fintech company Tabby in Riyadh, awarded through the open 'Tabby Imagine' design challenge (no CV screen). The intern owns a real product problem end to end — user research, Figma design, engineering handoff, and post-launch measurement — under senior review, paid SAR 3,000/month.
How you get this role
There is no CV screen for this one. The only way in is Tabby Imagine, an open design and product challenge for Saudi Arabia. Three places are awarded, first, second and third, and each winner takes this role.
- Come up with a product idea for Tabby: something new, or a change to what is already there.
- Send it in whatever form shows it best: a written page, a Figma file, a clickable prototype, working code, or a short video. One of them is enough, and there is no required format. Everything reaches us as a link. The entry form requires one and there is no file upload, so a written entry is sent as a link to the written page. Every link has to open for anyone holding it. Our design system is public at .
- Entries are read blind. Your name is hidden while the panel scores.
- The strongest entrants present their work live at the final, in front of an audience. That session replaces the interview for this role. Naming you publicly as a winner needs your separate consent, and refusing it does not disqualify you.
Entries open on 16 September and close on 30 September. Register at .
What you will do
Interns work on real product decisions under senior review.
Product work end to end
- Take a real problem in the Tabby app from question to shipped change
- Run the research. Talk to users, read the data, and work out what is actually broken
- Size the problem honestly and say what you would not do
Design
- Design the solution in Figma: flows, screens, states, edge cases
- Take the work through critique with the product and design team and rework it
- Hand off to engineers and stay with the build through release
After launch
- Measure what happened and say plainly whether it worked
- Bring the result back to the team, including when the answer is no
Working across teams
- Work with engineers, analysts and product managers on the same problem
- Present your work, defend the decisions, and change your mind when the evidence says so
- Write clearly enough that someone who was not in the room can act on it
Required
- 18 or over
- Evidence that you can make a product decision, not just draw a screen. Your challenge entry is that evidence
- Comfortable in Figma: components, prototyping, handing work over to engineers
- Clear written Arabic or English. Both are judged the same way and no translation is needed
- Willingness to have your work argued with, and to argue back with evidence
Strong plus
- Any shipped work: a personal app, a university project that reached real users, freelance product work
- Basic comfort with data: reading a funnel, understanding what a metric is actually saying
- Front-end familiarity, enough to know what is cheap and what is expensive to build
- Interest in fintech, payments, or how people in Saudi actually handle money
What we do not expect
- Professional product or design experience
- A degree in design
- A polished portfolio. Work in progress counts
- Certifications of any kind
Eligibility
- Anyone living in Saudi Arabia, 18 or over, citizens and residents alike, entering as individuals
- There are no team entries
- Current Tabby employees and contractors, their immediate families, and anyone who left Tabby in the last twelve months cannot enter
- We expect a full-time level of engagement. The internship is not part-time. Performance, ownership and involvement are expected at a full-time level
Format
- Six months, starting after the final in mid-October 2026
- Funded and paid in full by Tabby, SAR 3,000 a month
- Full integration into a product or design team at Tabby, matched to the work you did in the challenge
- Distributed team across multiple countries. If you are based in Riyadh, the working mode is office-first
- A path to a junior role on the team afterwards. That is our intent and what we aim for, not a guarantee: it depends on how the internship goes
- Three places are open, first, second and third, and each one is this role
- Subject to a separate contract and the required eligibility checks
Dates
- 16 September, entries open
- 30 September, entries close
- 15 October, the final, where you present live. It replaces the interview
