Product Designer

You will own product design end to end, working directly with customers, the founder and engineering.

What's expected from you

• User research - interview customers and understand how they actually work
• Analyze the existing product and identify friction, complexity and opportunities for improvement
• Separate feature requests from underlying product problems
• Simplify complex financial and operational workflows
• Design new products and systems from scratch
• Own user journeys, information architecture, interaction design and high-fidelity UI
• Build realistic prototypes quickly using AI tools
• Test ideas with customers and iterate fast
• Work closely with engineering through implementation and release
• Stay involved after launch and improve based on feedback and usage

What success looks like

• Customers find Altius easier and more intuitive to use
• Major friction points in the existing product are identified and improved
• New ideas move quickly from problem to tested prototype
• New products and workflows are successfully designed and shipped from scratch
• Customer discovery becomes a regular part of how we build
• The product becomes more consistent, polished and simple

What we're looking for

• Native-level English
• Strong product design experience in complex products, preferably B2B SaaS or enterprise software
• Proven experience designing and launching products or complex systems from 0 to 1
• Proven experience in startups, small teams or high-paced environments with rapid iteration
• Strong customer research, discovery and usability-testing experience
• Excellent UX, interaction and visual design skills
• Strong systems thinking and information architecture
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to simplify complex business problems
• Strong Figma skills
• High ownership and ability to work independently from ambiguity to execution

How we use AI

AI is central to how this role works, not a side tool. In design, we expect you to use AI prototyping and coding tools to turn ideas into realistic, working prototypes quickly, put them in front of customers, and iterate before anything reaches engineering. Beyond design, we expect you to use models like Claude and ChatGPT across your day-to-day work, from preparing for and making sense of customer interviews to exploring more options in less time. We want someone who follows where these tools are heading and how they change the way products are designed and built, not someone who has simply used a chatbot.
