PRODUCT DESIGNER
ABOUT THE ROLE
ClickSend, part of the global Sinch family, is a worldwide leader that helps businesses and developers connect with their customers. Our platform is built around powerful SMS and RCS messaging and handles billions of messages every year, through our user-friendly dashboard, robust APIs and popular third-party integrations.
We’re serving customers from around the globe, but our culture was born in Perth. We've built a creative, collaborative, get-it-done environment that has the backing of a major international group and keeps an agile spirit. Our Philippines team already includes colleagues in Product and Engineering, and we share a time zone with Perth, so collaboration happens in real time.
We're growing the ClickSend Product Design team to keep pace with our product roadmap. Our designers don't sit in a single product area, we work across the platform and you'll get to know it broadly. You will be an important part of our product development process, responsible for turning business and user needs into well-crafted experiences used by customers around the world.
DECISION MAKING & SCOPE
- Own the design end-to-end for features and user journeys in the quarter's priority areas, from user research and conceptual ideation to wireframing, high-fidelity prototyping, and final UI design.
- Work independently but keep the design team close to align priorities and craft.
- Use judgement when requirements are ambiguous or competing. Decide which problems need research, when to reuse or extend existing patterns, and when a design is ready to ship.
- Get up to speed quickly in new product areas and build knowledge of ClickSend's products and customers over time.
- Full time, based in the Philippines, reporting to the Design Lead.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Frame the problem: work with Product Managers and Engineers to define the problem, the target users and how success will be measured before designing.
- Lead discovery and research: plan and run customer interviews, usability tests and data analysis, and use the findings to shape decisions.
- Design and prototype: create flows, wireframes, high-fidelity designs and prototypes in Figma, covering every state, edge case and accessibility need. Use AI-assisted tools to explore and prototype faster.
- Grow the design system: build with the ClickSend design system, and propose, design and document new patterns as we develop it.
- Deliver what you design: give engineers clear specs and logic, stay involved during the build, and run design QA so what ships matches the intent.
- Work as one design team: bring your work to our regular co-working and feedback sessions, give candid critique, and support other designers through feedback, pairing and onboarding.
- Communicate and facilitate: present your work and explain your reasoning to stakeholders, and run workshops and working sessions that help the team reach decisions.
SUCCESS MEASURES
- Features you own move from discovery to release within the planned cycle, with design QA done before launch.
- The product metrics attached to your work move, for example activation, conversion, task completion or fewer support contacts.
- Product and engineering partners say your input arrives early enough to shape the solution.
- The design system is used and extended rather than worked around, and new patterns are documented for the team.
- Within your first quarter, you're working independently in your allocated area.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Strong craft in interaction, visual and content design, with close attention to detail.
- Fluency in Figma and experience working with design systems.
- Clear written and spoken communication in English, and confidence presenting to stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Experience using AI tools in your design workflow, or curiosity to explore them.
- An understanding of front-end technologies.
EXPERIENCE
- 3+ years as a Product Designer or UX/UI Designer on SaaS or complex web applications, including owning features end-to-end.
- A portfolio showing how you frame problems, the research you've run, the trade-offs you made and the results you shipped.
- Hands-on experience planning and running usability tests and customer interviews.
- Experience working in agile teams with Product Managers and Engineers.
Nice to have
- Experience with messaging, communications or developer-facing products.
- Familiarity with growth mechanics such as onboarding, activation and conversion.
