Product Designer

Open 30d

User Foundations are the enablers behind many of Schibsted’s fantastic brands and services such as Finn, VG, Aftonbladet, Blocket and many more. We help more than 40 Schibsted services and more than 20 million users across Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark, helping those users to log-in, manage their online identity and data, and make payments for services and products.

Our core mission is to uphold a Nordic digital ecosystem for users and brands built on trust, transparency and choice.

In Schibsted you will also join a large design organisation with 50+ Designers, Researchers and Content Designers across all Schibsted brands. We host regular training, meetups, and other UX-related events.

About the role
We are seeking a Designer who is passionate about creating exceptional experiences for our users. You will collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, Researchers, Designers, and Content Designers to contribute to the end-to-end product design process, from ideation to launch and further iterations on product.

About you
We are looking for someone who desires to design and build visually appealing and user friendly products and services. You possess the ability to zoom out and engage in strategic discussions and understand complex user journeys, while also paying attention to intricate interaction design details. Translating and transforming fragmented experiences into seamless user journeys is where you shine. Building strong relationships with stakeholders, being proactive, resourceful, and driven are traits we value highly. Your communication skills are excellent and user testing is a key part of your toolkit.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design work for our main products and services, focusing on profile and privacy settings for our users across all Schibsted brands.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Engineers, other Designers and Design Researchers to understand user needs, validate solutions, and iterate based on feedback.
  • Be actively involved in product and design discussions on a product and design team level.
  • Utilise a variety of design tools and techniques such as journey maps, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes, to effectively communicate design concepts.
  • Contribute to the development of our Design System.
  • Assist in driving improvements in our ways of working and exploring new possibilities.
  • Manage project tasks, deadlines, and deliverables in a timely manner.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in Design (interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial, etc.), Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Design portfolio showcasing your work on web and/or mobile applications, with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with conducting research and testing, and using the insight gained in iterative design work.
  • Ability to effectively communicate conceptual ideas and design rationale within a user-centred design process.
  • Knowledge of Service Design methodology and the ability to put it into practice.
  • We do most work in Figma and Miro, so experience with these tools is very welcome.

If you find that not all of the above apply to you that’s okay. As a Designer on our team you’ll learn and gain experience every day. Please don’t let a missing bullet point stop you from applying.

We can offer:

  • A close-knit Design team in User Foundations and a large UX Community across Schibsted.
  • Flexible working hours.
  • Modern offices in central Oslo (Grensen) and the equipment you need to work comfortably remote.
  • Excellent lunch service every day in our Grensen offices, shared with Finn and other Schibsted colleagues.
  • Wellness services with on-site fitness centres.
  • Access to Schibsted employee benefits, free newspaper etc.
  • Schibsted Learning Lab, a company-wide learning platform to improve your skills and support your career development.
  • Access to Linkedin Learning Platform with over 16,000 expert-led, online courses and video tutorials.
  • Internal mentor programme.
  • Employee Shares Saving Plan.
  • Opportunity to visit other offices.
  • Opportunity to grow and develop professionally within the company.
