Product Formulation Specialist - Food Product Development

Industry: Manufacturing / Research & Development
Location: Pioneer, Singapore (Candidates who are able to work in Tuas may also be considered)
Salary: S$3,500 – S$4,500 + Performance Bonus
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Note: Must be able to work extended hours when required.

Job Summary

The R&D Executive is responsible for developing and optimizing product blending formulations, managing raw material usage, and supporting production trials to ensure finished products meet required specifications and quality standards. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and close collaboration with production and quality teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop blending formulations using available raw materials.
  • Calculate ingredient ratios to achieve finished products with consistent specifications and quality.
  • Adjust formulations based on raw material availability, properties, and stock levels.
  • Perform mathematical calculations for blending, yield, material usage, and production quantities.
  • Monitor raw material inventory and recommend suitable materials for blending.
  • Maintain accurate formulation records, calculations, and inventory data.
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel to analyse formulations, stock levels, and material consumption.
  • Work closely with production and quality teams to conduct blending trials and verify finished product performance.
  • Investigate formulation variances and recommend corrective adjustments.
  • Support cost optimization initiatives while maintaining required product standards.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Engineering, Mathematics, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, lookups, and pivot tables.
  • Good understanding of inventory management and material planning.
  • Able to manage multiple formulations and projects simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented with strong numerical and analytical capabilities.
  • Comfortable working with data, calculations, and formulation adjustments.
  • Able to collaborate with production, quality, and inventory teams.
  • Adaptable and willing to support operational requirements when needed.
