Product Development Manager (40 - 48K)

Salary: $40,000 – $48,000 per month

Our client, an established company in the apparel industry, is looking for an experienced Product Development Manager to lead product development initiatives and manage a small team. The successful candidate will work closely with customers, vendors and suppliers to drive creative concepts through development and commercialisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of 3–4 team members, overseeing the full product development process from concept through execution.

• Develop creative and compelling product presentations for customers.

• Oversee artwork, graphics, embellishments, strike-offs, samples and related development activities.

• Conduct market research and trend analysis to identify and anticipate upcoming fashion and product trends.

• Develop innovative ideas across garment construction, fabrics, materials, trims and components to enhance product quality and commercial appeal.

• Manage multiple development projects and seasonal calendars, ensuring priorities and deadlines are effectively managed.

• Work independently with customers, vendors and material suppliers to resolve product development, construction, engineering and commercialisation issues.

• Prepare 3D artwork and visual presentations for customer presentations.

• Support special projects and other product development initiatives as required.

• Travel within the region and internationally when required.

Requirements

• Degree in Fashion Design, Textile / Clothing Technology or a related discipline.

• Minimum 8 years of solid experience in apparel product development, preferably gained from a trading company or buying office.

• Strong technical knowledge across woven, knit and sweater garments, including fabrics, garment construction and manufacturing processes.

• Solid experience working with US customers.

• Strong fashion sense with good understanding of market trends and product development.

• Good leadership skills with experience in managing and developing a small team.

• Detail-minded, organised and able to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.

• Strong problem-solving, communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Proficient in CAD, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, video editing and 3D design software.

• Good command of written and spoken English, Cantonese and Putonghua.

• Immediate availability would be an advantage.
