Shine is the financial copilot for entrepreneurs and small business owners.
Founded by serial entrepreneurs Rico Andersen and Martin Hegelund, Shine is a leading European fintech unicorn on a mission to restore the joy of running a business, by ending wasted time on financial admin. Shine offers a connected solution for invoicing, accounting, payroll, business accounts, payments, and financing, meaning business owners can focus their energy on growing a healthy business, not held back by manual admin.
Part of something bigger
Today we're part of Cegid, a European leader in cloud software for finance and accounting. Together we're building Europe's leading financial copilot for small businesses and their accountants.
Shine already supports more than 400,000 small businesses. As part of Cegid, we now reach over one million small businesses and 15,000 accountants across Europe.
We're a multicultural team working from France, Germany, Denmark and the Netherlands, contributing to a wider European network that spans Spain, Portugal and Belgium.
Your hiring experience matters
Just as we respect our customers' time, we respect yours. Your experience with Shine and Cegid should feel simple, transparent and genuinely supportive.
If this sounds like somewhere you want to grow, we'd love to hear from you.
The Accounting Core Team at Shine
The Accounting Core Area is the engine behind Shine's accounting platform. We own the foundational layer that makes accounting possible for thousands of small businesses and their accountants across Europe — the bookkeeping engine, chart of accounts, VAT services, journal management, and statutory reporting.
This area is entering one of the most consequential phases in Shine's history. We're building the accounting infrastructure that will power the next generation of our platform across multiple European markets — and we're doing it while the platform is live and scaling. The team is currently evolving its structure to better reflect this ambition, moving toward a model organized around a universal accounting engine and market-specific compliance layers.
This is a rare opportunity to shape that transition from the inside.
Your Role as a Product Director, Accounting Core
As Product Director, Accounting Core, you own the accounting engine at the heart of Shine's platform. This is not a maintenance role — you are responsible for evolving foundational infrastructure while shipping the compliance deliverables that matter most to our accountant and SMB customers across Europe.
Your responsibilities will include:
About you
Equal Opportunity Employer

It is in accordance with the European regulations on personal data protection, particularly the Regulation of 27 April 2016 (GDPR), which came into effect on 25 May 2018, across the European Union.
In line with GDPR principles, we take all necessary measures to ensure that your personal data is:
- processed lawfully, fairly, and transparently;
- collected for specific, explicit, and legitimate purposes;
- relevant and limited to what is necessary for those purposes;
- stored only for the time required, in accordance with our data retention policies;

Who is this policy for?
This policy applies to candidates applying for job opportunities at Shine, whether directly via our recruitment site or through recruitment agencies, job boards, social networks (such as LinkedIn), or any other useful channels in the recruitment process.
What personal data do we collect and for what purposes?
Recruitment operations and matching
We collect data to process your application and suggest roles that may match your profile.
This data is either provided directly by you or shared with us by third parties (such as recruiters, job boards, or professional social networks). In such cases, Shine is not responsible for how those third parties handle your data, as you have a separate relationship with them.
We may update your profile using publicly available information from platforms like LinkedIn, via our data processor Hiresweet. Only relevant data is collected.
1) Application review
This includes contacting you about roles or future opportunities, arranging interviews, sending job alerts, managing legal or compliance obligations, and handling complaints or appeals.
We may collect:
- Your contact and identification information
- Any personal information included in your CV
- Professional and declarative data gathered during interviews or from relevant external sources
- Information from any trial immersion (if applicable and with your consent, especially if recorded)
- Publicly available professional profile data (e.g., LinkedIn)
2) Hiring process
When your application is successful, we collect the necessary data to prepare your employment contract, handle legal and administrative obligations (such as social declarations), and ensure Shine’s compliance obligations are met.
In some cases, this may involve screening against international sanctions lists.
We may collect sensitive data only if required by legal, regulatory, or compliance obligations, or if you provide it voluntarily.
If your application is successful, we may use the personal email address you provided during the recruitment process to:
- create your access account to Shine’s internal tools and automate certain onboarding steps, and
- contact you in case of account lockout or other access-related issues.
This use is strictly limited to onboarding and account management purposes. Your personal email address will be deleted upon termination of your employment or as soon as it is no longer required for these purposes.
How to ensure your personal data is accurate
You are responsible for ensuring that the data you share with us is accurate, complete, and up to date. Please inform us of any changes during our collaboration.
Legal basis for processing your data
Your personal data is processed based on pre-contractual or contractual steps.

Your data may be accessed only by authorized Shine employees and recruitment-related processors.
How long do we keep your data?
Unless you request otherwise, we retain your data for up to two (2) years from your last contact with Shine, so we can consider you for future roles that match your profile.
