Product Engineer

About the Role

We're a pre-seed energy technology company on a mission to make energy free for European households. As a licensed electricity retailer, we build an AI-first, full-stack platform that enables hardware companies and energy providers to launch dynamic electricity plans — abstracting all legal and operational complexity into a clean API layer.

We're looking for a product-focused engineer who sits at the intersection of customer discovery, end-to-end delivery, and engineering culture. You'll own mission-critical problems for energy retailers and turn complex domain challenges into intuitive, production-grade experiences. This is an early-stage role with real ownership and outsized impact.

What You'll Do

  • Sit with customers to dissect problems and develop product intuition that directly guides engineering decisions.

  • Ship end-to-end solutions across the full stack, taking features from discovery all the way to production.

  • Leverage AI-native development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor) as force multipliers to accelerate delivery and increase your impact.

  • Own zero-to-one problems — such as dunning workflows, customer portal re-engineering, and billing engine improvements.

  • Prioritize and curate the roadmap: decide what to build, what to skip, and when to kill an initiative.

  • Solve core energy retail challenges including billing, procurement, retention, and cost optimization.

  • Shape engineering culture, tooling, and processes, and help raise the bar as the team grows.

  • Adapt quickly to new tools and methods and bring the broader team along to the frontier.

What We're Looking For

Must-haves:

  • 2+ years of software engineering experience delivering full-stack, end-to-end products to production.

  • A demonstrated track record of shipping real product work — we assess what you've built, not just your résumé.

  • Proven experience owning zero-to-one problems from discovery through to production.

  • Hands-on experience with AI-native codebases and AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor).

  • Strong full-stack capabilities and comfort owning end-to-end systems.

  • High ownership mindset with the ability to thrive in ambiguity and early-stage environments.

Strongly preferred:

  • Experience solving billing, procurement, customer retention, or cost-optimization problems for an energy retailer or similar consumer-facing domain.

  • Experience shaping engineering culture, tooling, and processes on a small or early-stage team.

Nice to have:

  • Experience building or contributing to core products in high-engineering-bar environments or successful open-source projects.

  • Background in energy technology, smart hardware integrations (e.g., EVs, heat pumps), or European energy markets.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: €80,000 – €120,000 per year, depending on experience.

  • Early-stage equity opportunity on a mission-driven team.

  • Visa sponsorship: Not available — candidates must have the right to work in Germany.

Location

This is a fully on-site role based in Berlin, Germany. We work together in person; remote-only arrangements are not available for this position.
