What is a Product Engineer IV?
The Product Engineer IV is responsible for working closely with engineering staff and field personnel to provide modification to designs of existing products and the development of new products.

In this role, you will:

· Develop new products, testing procedures and equipment

· Perform design analysis, review, and verification on modified and existing products

· Make engineering improvements and/or modifications to existing products

· Prepare, revise, approve, and distribute engineering documentation

· Set up and/or modify bill of materials for products to meet Downing design and API industry standards

· Make engineering improvements/modifications to existing products based upon root cause analysis, FMEA and FNCRs

· Draft reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals

· Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

· Lead larger scale projects and product design changes

· Technical leader for all engineering staff and other departments

· Works closely with leadership on engineering direction

· Potential to travel 2-4 times per year (must possess a valid driver’s license and meet the company driver requirement to operate a company vehicle while traveling)

· Perform other duties as assigned

Required and Preferred Experience:

· 7+ years’ experience in Engineering environment

· Knowledge of control systems and automation required

· Microsoft Office Suite and SolidWorks experience required

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

· Office environment of an oil and gas servicing company/manufacturing shop

· Regularly required to sit, use hands to manipulate with fingers, handle or feel, talk, or hear

· Occasionally it is required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, reach with hands and arms

· Lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs (SEF Energy employees shall not manually lift an item weighing more than 50 lbs., they shall utilize mechanical assistance devices. If mechanical assistance devices are not available, utilize a team lift).

· Work in wet, humid conditions (non-weather), work near moving mechanical parts, outdoor weather conditions, cold or hot (non-weather)

· Ability to see at a close distance (clear vision at 20 inches or less), identify and distinguish colors, observe an area that can be seen up and down or left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point, judge distances and spatial relationships, three-dimensional vision, adjust focus (adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus

· Quiet conditions to loud noises

Education:

· Mechanical Engineering Bachelor’s Degree required
