Product Lead

ZTL is building the next generation of bank-independent payment infrastructure. We provide modern, API-driven payment solutions that enable software platforms and system owners to offer seamless financial services to thousands of businesses. We’re now looking for a Product Lead who wants to play a key role in building the backbone of modern business payments.

🚀 The Role

The Product Lead is responsible for driving the strategy, roadmap, and execution for one or more key product areas within ZTL's regulated payment platform. This role leads the product lifecycle from discovery through delivery, aligning business goals, user needs, and regulatory requirements (e.g., PSD2, SCA, DORA). The Product Lead works cross-functionally with Engineering, Compliance, Operations, and external stakeholders to deliver impactful, compliant, and scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Own and manage the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for designated product areas (e.g., payments, onboarding, authentication, APIs).

2. Define and prioritise product initiatives based on user needs, business value, compliance requirements, and technical feasibility.

3. Lead discovery processes including user research, stakeholder interviews, data analysis, and market benchmarking.

4. Translate high-level business and regulatory requirements into clear, actionable product specifications and user stories.

5. Work closely with Engineering to ensure successful delivery, trade-off management, and iteration based on feedback.

6. Collaborate with Compliance to ensure products meet regulatory obligations (PSD2, SCA, DORA, AML, etc.) throughout the product lifecycle.

7. Coordinate cross-functional alignment across Management, Operations, AML, Customer Success, Engineering, and external partners.

8. Monitor and report on product performance (adoption, usage, customer feedback, and operational KPIs).

9. Contribute to internal product processes and frameworks for prioritization, discovery, and delivery.

👩‍💻 Who You Might Be

• You have minimum 4–5 years of experience in a product role

• You come from a technical background, and understand how technical decisions ripple into business consequences

• You're a strong communicator, who can bridge the gap between technical and non-technical audiences

• You are comfortable in a backend-only, API-first company with no UI/UX function (you think in data flows, system integrations, and backend logic rather than user interfaces and design)

• You bring energy, curiosity, and a passion for growth

• You have a genuine interest in AI, and stay curious about how it can be applied in a regulated context

Bonus points for:

• Previous experience in a regulated industry, ideally fintech, payments, or banking

• Previous startup or scale-up experience

• Being fluent in one of the Scandinavian languages
