- Lead pricing, value positioning, target margin logic, and option strategy for the Dry Cooler product line in coordination with Sales and leadership.
- Maintain clear ownership of roadmap priorities, product direction, platform standardization, and cross-functional decision-making.
- Identify opportunities to improve product competitiveness, including capacity density, footprint, sound performance, energy efficiency, adiabatic capability, controls integration, shipping efficiency, modularity, and manufacturability.
Engineering / R&D Interface
- Act as the primary interface between the Dry Cooler product line and Engineering / R&D teams.
- Translate customer needs, market requirements, and product-line priorities into clear engineering and development requirements.
- Work with Engineering / R&D to define validation priorities, thermal performance targets, sound targets, structural requirements, electrical and controls requirements, corrosion protection requirements, and release criteria for new products and enhancements.
- Review development progress and ensure proposed solutions align with application needs, manufacturability, cost targets, product strategy, and customer specification trends.
- Coordinate engineering sign-off and cross-functional readiness prior to manufacturing release, including drawings, bills of material, routings, test requirements, documentation, and quality checkpoints.
- Support product change management and continuous improvement by ensuring field feedback, manufacturing input, supplier constraints, and customer requirements are reflected in development priorities.
Manufacturing Readiness and Product Industrialization
- Partner with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality to ensure dry cooler products are designed and released with manufacturability, repeatability, quality, and cost-effective delivery in mind.
- Review product designs and proposed changes for manufacturability, production feasibility, material availability, factory flow, shipping constraints, and operational readiness prior to release.
- Support the transition from development to production by identifying and resolving product-readiness risks early, particularly around coil construction, fan systems, casing design, controls, spray systems, piping, lifting, and logistics.
- Balance customization, standardization, cost, lead time, and delivery performance across the Dry Cooler product line.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives based on manufacturing feedback, supplier performance, field experience, commissioning feedback, and customer application learnings.
- Support ownership and coordination of product approvals, certifications, and compliance requirements, including UL, CE, UKCA, EMC, PED / pressure equipment considerations, seismic, sound, and other applicable customer or regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in dry coolers, air-cooled heat exchangers, HVAC, mission-critical cooling systems, industrial heat rejection, or related thermal equipment.
- Solid understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, air / fluid dynamics, pressure drop, fan systems, sound, materials, and practical heat exchanger design trade-offs.
- Experience with product development, cross-functional release processes, customer specification review, and product-line support in a technical manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturability, production readiness, supplier constraints, quality requirements, and practical engineering trade-offs in a manufacturing setting.
- Familiarity with product-line management, lifecycle ownership, product strategy, pricing logic, and competitive positioning in a technical environment.
