The Product Management Lead serves as the primary product representative within Vietnam, acting as the local technical and commercial interface between customers, factory operations, engineering, executives, and the global Product Management organization. This position supports multiple business units, product lines, and manufacturing sites across Vietnam, in line with our customers’ strategies to grow their supply chain and operations within South East Asia.
The Product Management Lead works closely with Product Managers located in the United States. The role will provide input into global product strategy, portfolio direction, pricing, and major business decisions. The Product Management Lead is responsible for executing those strategies locally by coordinating customer activities, supporting manufacturing operations, driving product execution, and ensuring outstanding customer responsiveness.


This is a unique opportunity for engineers who enjoy combining technical expertise with customer engagement and business collaboration. Success in this role requires balancing significant interaction with customers, including engineers, quality organizations, auditors, sourcing teams, visiting VPs, and senior leadership, as well as extensive cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, Sales, Program Management, and R&D. This role has a career path with further room to grow in the Product Management organization, subject to performance, results, and achievement.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary customer-facing product representative for Vietnam manufacturing operations and act as the key technical and commercial interface between customers, factory operations, and the Global Product Management organization.
  • Work closely with U.S.-based Product Managers to provide input and execute product strategies, and coordinate product transfers, engineering changes, new product introductions, and product lifecycle activities across multiple business units and manufacturing sites.
  • Build strong relationships with customers by supporting technical discussions, manufacturing reviews, quality audits, executive visits, business reviews, product qualifications, and issue resolution activities.
  • Understand customer technical and business requirements, communicate them effectively to internal teams, and ensure alignment between customer expectations and factory execution.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams across Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Sales, Program Management, and R&D to execute priorities established by Global Product Management.
  • Support production performance by monitoring manufacturing issues, customer feedback, operational risks, quality, delivery, and overall product performance, ensuring timely communication and escalation where appropriate.
  • Support factory readiness for new product introductions, customer qualifications, technology transfer activities, and production ramp-up while driving successful product execution.
  • Collect and analyze product performance metrics and operational data to support forecasting, demand planning, business reviews, manufacturing analysis, and decision-making by Product Management.
  • Support Product Managers by providing customer feedback, manufacturing insights, operational analysis, market intelligence, and business recommendations that improve product execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in root cause investigations, corrective actions, continuous improvement initiatives, and cross-functional projects that enhance customer responsiveness, operational efficiency, manufacturing performance, and communication across Vietnam manufacturing sites.

Requirements
Education

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science is required.
• Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, Physics, or related technical disciplines are preferred.
• An MBA, business degree, or related courses are also preferred.
Experience
• Minimum 7 years of experience in Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Technical Program Management, Product Management Support, or other related technical roles.
• Experience supporting semiconductor, photonics, electronics, precision manufacturing, or advanced materials products is highly preferred.
• Experience working in a global manufacturing organization is preferred.
• Customer-facing experience is highly desirable.
Skills & Competencies
• Strong technical and commercial mindset with the ability to understand complex products and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working directly with customers and cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project coordination skills in a global manufacturing environment.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (approximately 15–25%)


Ideal Candidate
We're looking for an engineer who enjoys both technical problem-solving and business collaboration. Candidates with one or more of the following backgrounds will be highly regarded:
• Engineering professionals with additional education or training in Business, Finance, Economics, or an MBA.
• Exposure to customer-facing, commercial, or business-oriented engineering roles.
• Experience supporting product strategy, business planning, project budgeting, ROI analysis, or P&L-related activities.
• Previous experience in Product Management, Technical Program Management, Sales Engineering, Application Engineering, Marketing, or other cross-functional business roles.
• Confident communicating and presenting technical and business topics to customers and senior stakeholders.
