The Impact You Will Have in This Role:

The Product Manager, Associate Director within DTCC's Technology Research & Innovation (TRI) group will lead product initiatives focused on evaluating, developing, and scaling emerging technology capabilities that can create strategic value for DTCC and the financial services industry.

This role sits at the intersection of product management, AI, research, and business strategy. You will take ownership of complex and often ambiguous opportunities, translating business needs and new technology capabilities into well-defined product strategies, experiments, proofs of concept, pilots, and implementation plans.

You will partner closely with stakeholders across Technology, Product, Engineering, Architecture, Risk, Legal, Compliance, and business teams to identify high-value opportunities, define product requirements and roadmaps, evaluate potential solutions, and guide initiatives from early-stage discovery through validation and, where appropriate, broader adoption or transition to production.

The successful candidate will combine strong product management fundamentals with intellectual curiosity, structured problem solving, technical fluency, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders in a highly collaborative environment.

Your Primary Responsibilities:

Product Strategy & Ownership

  • Own and lead product initiatives within TRI, establishing clear product visions, strategies, roadmaps, priorities, and measures of success
  • Translate strategic objectives, business problems, and emerging technology opportunities into clearly defined product concepts, requirements, and execution plans
  • Develop product proposals, value propositions, business cases, roadmaps, and other decision-ready materials to support investment and prioritization decisions
  • Manage product backlogs and translate product objectives into well-defined epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and delivery milestones
  • Balance business value, user needs, technical feasibility, risk, cost, and strategic alignment when making product decisions

Emerging Technology, Discovery & Experimentation

  • Identify and evaluate opportunities to apply emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, automation, and other developing technologies relevant to DTCC and the financial services industry
  • Lead structured product discovery efforts to validate business problems, user needs, potential solutions, and expected value before significant investment is made
  • Design and lead proofs of concept, experiments, and pilots that test key product and technology hypotheses and generate evidence to inform investment decisions
  • Evaluate technology solutions and vendors based on their business value, capabilities, feasibility, risks, dependencies, user experience, and potential for enterprise adoption
  • Synthesize research, experimentation, user feedback, and quantitative and qualitative results into clear recommendations for senior leadership

Product Development & Delivery

  • Partner closely with engineering, architecture, research, and other technology teams to translate product strategy into executable plans and deliver high-quality solutions
  • Drive initiatives through the product lifecycle, from problem definition and discovery through requirements, experimentation, business case development, validation, implementation, and transition to broader adoption where appropriate
  • Establish clear outcomes and success metrics for product initiatives and use evidence and user feedback to refine priorities and product direction
  • Proactively identify dependencies, risks, resource constraints, and delivery challenges and work with stakeholders to resolve or appropriately escalate them
  • Ensure product initiatives follow applicable DTCC product development, technology, architecture, security, risk, and governance processes

Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Build strong partnerships with stakeholders across Technology, Product, Operations, Risk, Legal, Compliance, and business teams to identify opportunities and align priorities
  • Lead cross-functional working sessions, product reviews, demonstrations, and decision-making forums
  • Communicate product strategy, progress, findings, risks, tradeoffs, and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Develop concise, executive-ready presentations and recommendations that enable senior leaders to make informed product and investment decisions
  • Serve as a trusted product partner who can bring structure and direction to complex problems involving multiple stakeholders and competing priorities

Product Management Leadership

  • Promote strong product management practices within TRI, including disciplined discovery, outcome-based roadmaps, clear requirements, rigorous business cases, user-centered design, and evidence-based decision making
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to less-experienced product team members and contribute to the development of product management capabilities across the team
  • Help establish reusable product frameworks, methodologies, templates, and best practices that improve the consistency and effectiveness of TRI initiatives
  • Maintain awareness of developments in emerging technology, financial services, and product management and apply relevant practices and insights to TRI initiatives
  • Mitigate risk by following established procedures and controls, identifying potential issues early, and demonstrating sound judgment and strong ethical behavior

**NOTE: The Primary Responsibilities of this role are not limited to the details above. **

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of related professional experience, with significant experience in product management, technology strategy, business analysis, management consulting, or related disciplines
  • Bachelor's degree (preferred) or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated experience owning complex technology products or initiatives from initial problem definition through delivery, validation, or implementation
  • Experience developing product strategies, roadmaps, requirements, business cases, and success metrics
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders without relying solely on direct authority

Talents Needed for Success

  • Product leadership: Strong command of product management principles and the ability to independently lead complex products and initiatives
  • Strategic thinking: Ability to connect individual technology initiatives to broader business objectives and identify where technology can create meaningful enterprise value
  • Structured problem solving: Ability to bring clarity and structure to ambiguous problems and translate broad opportunities into actionable plans

  • Customer and user focus: Strong commitment to understanding user problems and validating that solutions deliver measurable value
  • Adaptability and curiosity: Comfort working in an exploratory environment where technologies, requirements, and potential solutions may evolve rapidly
  • Execution: Ability to manage multiple initiatives, priorities, dependencies, and stakeholders while maintaining a strong focus on outcomes and quality
