Product Manager, Integration Platform & Partnerships
Summary
Product Manager owning Retool's integration platform and partnerships: setting the roadmap for how enterprise users connect to databases, APIs, storage, and AI models, leading 0–1 features from research to launch, and making build-vs-partner decisions with engineering, design, and go-to-market teams.
WHY WE’RE LOOKING FOR YOU
IN THIS ROLE
- Which capabilities should Retool build directly, and where could partnerships deliver a better or faster customer experience?
- How can we make it dramatically easier for builders to connect to databases, APIs, storage systems, and AI inference providers?
- What abstractions and frontend experiences will make sophisticated integrations feel intuitive without limiting what technical builders can do?
- How should Retool’s integration platform evolve as customers build increasingly complex
- How can organizations configure and reuse resources, permissions, design systems, and other shared assets across teams and applications?
- How do we turn individual customer needs into a cohesive integration platform rather than a series of one-off connectors?
- Set the strategy and roadmap for Retool’s integration platform, grounding priorities in customer evidence, technical constraints, and business impact.
- Lead 0–1 projects from early customer research through launch, adoption, and iteration.
- Work closely with engineering and design to shape both the underlying platform and the builder-facing experience.
- Explore new product ideas with customers and determine which problems are worth solving.
- Evaluate build-versus-partner decisions and work with third-party partners where they can meaningfully improve the product experience.
- Make clear product and technical tradeoffs without waiting for broad consensus.
- Partner with Sales and Customer Success to understand customer needs, communicate product value, and build a compelling case for investment.
- Define success through outcomes such as ease of setup, resource reuse, builder adoption, and customer value.
THE SKILLSET YOU’LL BRING
- 4+ years of product management experience, including building and launching 0–1 products for technical or enterprise users.
- Experience helping a fast-growing product evolve into a scalable platform.
- Strong platform thinking: you can identify shared primitives, design for reuse, and build systems that support many products and use cases.
- Experience with data connectivity, integration platforms, developer platforms, or similarly technical enterprise products. We’re looking for more than experience shipping individual API integrations.
- The technical depth to participate credibly in architecture discussions and evaluate tradeoffs with senior engineers.
- A track record of turning ambiguous, cross-cutting problems into clear product direction and shipped outcomes.
- Strong customer instincts and experience conducting research with technical users.
- The ability to advocate for customers while distinguishing recurring platform needs from one-off requests.
- Strong product judgment. You form opinions, make decisions, communicate the rationale clearly, and course-correct as you learn.
- The ability to articulate product value and build a clear business case for customers and internal stakeholders.
- Strong ownership and a willingness to stay close to implementation, not just the roadmap.
- Hands-on curiosity about AI and how builders connect applications and agents to models, tools, and business data.
