The Product Manager is responsible for the successful development, delivery, performance, and continuous improvement of the Legal Portfolio. The role acts as the voice of the customer, translating customer needs, business priorities, data insights, and market opportunities into a clear and prioritised product backlog and roadmap. Working closely with engineering, design, commercial, marketing, and customer-facing teams, this role ensures that solutions deliver measurable customer and business value while maintaining high standards of quality, usability, performance, and compliance. The role also leverages AI-enabled capabilities and tools to enhance product outcomes, accelerate discovery, and improve decision-making.

This role is advertised as a Birmingham hybrid position. However, we are committed to supporting internal mobility and will consider applications from colleagues with existing alternative working arrangements on a case-by-case basis.

What You Will Do

  • Own and manage the product backlog end to end, leads sprint plans, backlog grooming, and release planning. Ensure features, enhancements, defects, technical debt, and risks are effectively prioritised to maximise customer and business value.
  • Lead customer discovery activities, including customer interviews, feedback analysis, research, and insight gathering to identify user needs and opportunities.
  • Act as the primary voice of the customer, ensuring customer insights directly influence product decisions and priorities.
  • Define requirements, acceptance criteria, and success measures for product features and releases. Facilitate sprint planning, backlog refinement, release planning, and cross-functional delivery activities with engineering teams.
  • Own, maintain and effectively communicates the product roadmap, making informed decisions on sequencing, priorities, and trade-offs.
  • Partner with UX and design colleagues to create intuitive, customer-centred experiences and ensure solutions meet usability and quality standards.
  • Define, track, analyse, and report on product performance metrics against pre-defined success measures. Build and interpret product dashboard and use data to drive continuous improvement and validate decisions. Setting clear measures for success for features and releases
  • Serve as the product expert, deeply understanding and able to provide guidance on product capabilities, technical architecture, limitations, and dependencies.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships and manage competing priorities across engineering, commercial, operational, customer, and partner groups.
  • Contribute to product launches and go-to-market activities, ensuring readiness across commercial, marketing, and customer-facing teams.
  • Maintain ownership of product health, including quality, performance, security, compliance, technical debt, and ongoing lifecycle management

What You Will Have

  • Strong understanding of modern product management methodologies, agile delivery practices, and product lifecycle management.
  • Good understanding of the legal sector and workflows within that sector
  • Knowledge of customer discovery techniques, user research methods, and customer-centred product development.
  • Understands and applies AI capabilities and prompt engineering to improve the quality of outputs in day-to-day work.
  • Practical understanding of UX principles and the relationship between user experience and product success. Understanding of product metrics, analytics, performance measurement, and data-driven decision making.
  • Awareness of commercial drivers, including revenue growth, retention, customer value, and product profitability.
  • Understanding and experience of AI-enabled technologies, product applications of AI, and responsible AI principles.
  • Knowledge of market analysis, competitive positioning, and emerging technology trends.
