About the role

Mission: Safeguard the engineering scope and manage the delivery lifecycle for high-priority programs.

The Role: Your job is to manage the "Line." You are the guardian of the product roadmap, responsible for ensuring that what we sell is what we build—and what we build is what we sell. You are the specific buffer between Sales and Engineering. Your primary focus is managing the engineering team to prevent "feature creep" (e.g., adding specialized components to a warhead just because a customer asked) and keeping the technical team focused on the mission-critical path.

What you'll do

  • Scope Control: Manage the interface between the CRO and the Director of Engineering. You ensure the engineers stay focused on the "Bible" of the product design and do not deviate based on external whims.
  • Program Lifecycle: Own the milestones for current and future programs, including flight tests, weapon certifications, and contractual flow-downs.
  • Regulatory Liaison: Navigate defense jargon and "weapon certification" requirements (Sandia, DoD, ATF) to ensure first-article testing is ready by Nov 2026.
  • Customer Conduit: Manage the feedback loop from the Navy and VCs, translating tactical needs into clear, actionable engineering tickets without distracting the core team.

Qualifications

  • Engineer-Whisperer: You can sit in a room with a brilliant Director of Engineering and keep them focused on the "on-time" delivery of the current version rather than the "perfect" delivery of the next version.
  • Contractual Expert: You understand the high stakes of a strategic defense pipeline and the legal/operational requirements of government contracting.
  • The Fixer: You identify bottlenecks on Monday and have them cleared by Friday so the C-suite can focus on scaling the business.
