Product Manager - Offline Lending

Summary

The Product Manager will lead the end-to-end lifecycle of offline lending products in Nigeria, focusing on portfolio growth, profitability, and operational efficiency. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize loan processes, acquisition channels, and credit risk management.

We are scaling our Offline Lending business in Nigeria and looking for a Product Manager to own the product end-to-end - from acquisition and loan origination to repayment, collections, and portfolio performance.

We are looking for a hands-on product leader with strong experience in the Nigerian lending market, who understands offline / branch / field-based lending and can drive both portfolio growth and sustainable profitability.

We expect the first tangible outcomes within 6–8 weeks.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the Offline Lending product lifecycle end-to-end
  • Optimize loan products, eligibility, pricing, limits, tenor, and approval processes
  • Improve customer acquisition through branches, field teams, agents, and other offline channels
  • Drive portfolio growth while maintaining healthy PAR, NPL, default, and profitability metrics
  • Work with Risk, Credit, Operations, Collections, Data, Engineering, and Commercial teams
  • Use data to improve approval rates, turnaround time, repayment, repeat lending, and unit economics
  • Identify opportunities to scale the lending portfolio across Nigeria

Requirements

  • 4–7 years of Product Management / Product Ownership experience
  • Strong experience in lending products in Nigeria
  • Hands-on experience with offline / branch-led / field-based lending
  • Strong understanding of credit assessment, underwriting, loan origination, repayment, and collections
  • Experience with portfolio management and lending metrics such as PAR, NPL, default, yield, and loss rates
  • Experience in fintech, MFB, banking, consumer finance, or digital lending
  • Strong commercial and data-driven mindset
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with Risk, Credit, Operations, Collections, Data, and Engineering
  • Strong stakeholder management and execution skills
  • Fluent English

Strong plus: experience with SME, merchant, working capital, or repeat lending products.
