Product Manager, Operations & Applied AI
Summary
Product Manager to build AI-native capital-markets infrastructure for public companies, automating transfer-agent workflows and multi-party processes with human-in-the-loop AI.
About Vinyl Equity
We're building the next generation of capital-markets infrastructure, starting with a modern, digital-native transfer agent designed for today's public companies. Our platform replaces slow, manual processes with secure, automated workflows.
Backed by Index Ventures, Spark Capital, and Infinity Ventures, our team includes veterans from NYSE, Equiniti, Computershare, and AngelList.
About the Role
This position focuses on transforming multi-party workflows into products that are instrumented, guardrailed, self-serve, and AI-assisted. The role bridges three customer groups: Vinyl operators, issuers/shareholders, and market partners (DTC, law firms, banks, Broadridge). You'll set product direction alongside engineers without direct management responsibility. The role requires in-office presence at least three days weekly at the West Loop headquarters.
Key Responsibilities
Make Vinyl's operations AI-native. Build baseline metrics on operator effort, then apply human-in-the-loop AI to ingestion, mapping, support triage, and operator copilots
Own the requirements pipeline. Convert operator and issuer needs into build-ready specifications capturing domain facts, edge cases, and clear recommendations
Ship self-serve experiences for issuers and shareholders. Develop reporting, exports, and status views
Extend the platform to next workflows: tender offers, escheatment, unclaimed property, and disbursements
Instrument real-time visibility and accountability across multi-party processes
Design correctness and controls into the product: invariants, maker-checker approvals, and audit trails
Role Requirements
7+ years in product, program, or technical operations
Hands-on AI/ML deployment experience in product or operations contexts
Strong technical foundation: code literacy, integration understanding, model evaluation capability
Track record designing correctness and controls in regulated or high-stakes domains
Demonstrated ability reducing manual operational load without unnecessary process complexity
Proven ability measuring business impact and collaborating asynchronously
Nice to Haves
Fintech, regtech, or compliance-heavy environment experience
Familiarity with ReactJS, NextJS, NodeJS, AWS, GitHub
Team or function building experience
Operations-engineering, solutions-architect, or TPM background
