Product Manager, Production Insights
Summary
Product Manager at Factbird builds SaaS tools that turn factory-floor data into actionable insights, collaborating with cloud, IoT, and firmware teams to improve manufacturing operations.
About the role
You’ll work closely with cloud development teams, IoT & firmware engineers, and product leaders to connect operations teams with their physical production environment, enabling data driven decision making to drive shop floor improvements. Reporting to the Director of Product, you’ll play a key role in shaping how our platform scales and how our customers succeed.
- Turn strategy into shipped products: Define roadmaps, prioritize ruthlessly, and work closely with stakeholders to ensure we solve the biggest problems our customers are facing.
- Lead across disciplines: Act as the glue between product, firmware, cloud, UX, and business stakeholders - making sure everyone is aligned, focused, and moving fast.
- Identify signals in noise: Clarify customer needs, outline their jobs to be done and translate findings into clear and concise user stories.
- Spearhead continuous discovery: Build and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to gather key insights.
- Launch, learn, iterate: Drive product launches, gather customer feedback, and continuously evolve features based on real-world usage.
- Own performance & outcomes: Define and track key performance metrics aligned with product objectives.
You are curious about technology and are keen to figure out what it enables for people who live and breathe shop floor realities every day. You care deeply about understanding the underlying problem before working on a solution. You want to build products that drive real value, something customers depend on, not just move on to the next shiny thing.
Requirements
- Direct shop floor operations experience (required): You've worked hands-on running or supporting manufacturing operations, not just observing them from the outside. You've been accountable for ensuring performance meet expectation by collaborating with the likes of operators, process engineers, continuous improvement leads, plant or operations managers. This operational depth is what lets you translate real production pain into product decisions, and it is a hard requirement for this role — without it, the rest of the role is very difficult to do well.
- Product management experience: 3+ years in product management, ideally
within SaaS, industrial tech, or production-focused products. - A continuous discovery mindset: You talk to customers constantly, map their jobs to be done, and identify commonalities. You're comfortable sitting with ambiguity until the real problem surfaces.
- Strong data and analytics instinct: Comfortable working with data and understanding how to turn analysis into concrete actions.
- A natural communicator: You speak the language of engineers, designers, operators, and leadership alike, adapting how you communicate to whoever's in the room.
- Flexible working hours: We trust you to manage your time. Life isn’t one-size-fits-all, and neither is work.
- Competitive salary: We offer compensation that reflects your skills, experience, and impact.
- Internet reimbursement: Stay connected and productive, wherever you choose to work from.
- Thoughtful, human onboarding: We’ll support you step by step, giving you the context, tools, and guidance you need to feel confident from day one.
- A career path that grows with you: Through bi-yearly Individual Development Plan conversations, we’ll work together to shape a career journey that fits your ambitions.
- Company-wide kickoffs & team days: We regularly come together across teams and regions to connect, celebrate, and align on what’s next.
- A global, inclusive culture: We’re proud of our diverse backgrounds and perspectives — and we actively celebrate them in how we work and collaborate.
