Product Manager - Security Planning
Overview
We are seeking a strategic and technically proficient In-Market Security Product Manager to own security product management for Dell Server and rack-scale products across feature development, launch, in-market management, and end of security support.
This role translates customer, business, regulatory, and threat-driven requirements into product priorities and lifecycle decisions. The successful candidate will drive delivery and launch readiness, develop go-to-market messaging, partner with technical marketing on feature assets, prioritize enhancements for shipping products, coordinate vulnerability response, resolve customer escalations, and manage ongoing security support.
The role works across engineering, security, marketing, sales, support, program management, architecture, compliance, and external technology partners to address lifecycle risks, deliver customer outcomes, and incorporate in-market insights into future product requirements and security planning.
Key Responsibilities
1. In-Market Security Product Management
· Own security product management for Server and rack-scale products through feature development, launch, in-market management, and end of security support.
· Drive delivery execution, launch readiness, release coordination, and lifecycle governance for security capabilities.
· Develop go-to-market messaging and partner with technical marketing to create clear, technically accurate messaging assets for product security features.
· Prioritize enhancement and new-feature requests for shipping products based on customer value, security risk, regulatory requirements, market needs, technical feasibility, and business impact.
· Coordinate vulnerability response activities with security, engineering, support, communications, and program teams.
· Resolve customer and partner escalations, establish clear action plans, and ensure timely communication and closure.
· Manage ongoing security support, including lifecycle risks, supportability, customer communications, and end-of-security-support planning.
· Partner with the security planner to incorporate in-market insights, customer feedback, emerging threats, and regulatory developments into future product requirements and portfolio roadmaps.
· Build alignment across stakeholders with competing technical, operational, and business priorities, influencing outcomes without direct authority.
2. Secure Enterprise Key Manager (SEKM) Product Management
· Own the Secure Enterprise Key Manager offering across its full lifecycle, from product strategy and roadmap development through delivery, go-to-market, adoption, and ongoing support.
· Partner with external key-management-system vendors and internal iDRAC engineering teams, recognizing that the SEKM client resides in iDRAC and that development is delivered through the iDRAC organization.
· Define product requirements and interoperability expectations for secure key-management workflows across supported Dell platforms and partner solutions.
· Prioritize enhancements and new capabilities based on security, compliance, interoperability, customer adoption, partner input, and market requirements.
· Coordinate releases, dependencies, launch readiness, and in-market issue resolution across product, engineering, security, vendors, and support teams.
· Develop product positioning and technical messaging, and create enablement materials for sales, solution architects, support, and partners.
· Manage customer and partner escalations, including cross-vendor issues requiring coordinated technical and business resolution.
· Ensure the offering continues to meet evolving security, compliance, interoperability, and customer needs.
3. BIOS Product Management
· Own the PowerEdge server BIOS offering across planning, development, launch, and in-market support.
· Track CPU technology roadmaps and determine which processor features should be implemented or enabled in PowerEdge BIOS.
· Clarify product positioning where CPU-vendor capabilities overlap with Dell BIOS features or differentiated Dell value.
· Partner with BIOS engineering, technologists, performance teams, architecture, and product teams to define and validate customer-focused BIOS profiles and workload configurations.
· Drive performance recommendations, technical documentation, launch content, and field-facing guidance that explain BIOS capabilities and configuration tradeoffs.
· Address customer requests and escalations, translate feedback into actionable requirements, and prioritize new capabilities for shipping products.
· Drive long-range planning with BIOS technologists and cross-functional product teams, balancing security, performance, manageability, power, compatibility, cost, and time-to-market.
