Details:
Salary: £75,000 - £90,000 DOE
Location: Fully remote
Eligibility Requirements: Due to the nature of the work, the successful candidate must be UK-based and eligible for DV clearance.
About the role
We are looking for a Product Manager to help shape the direction and continued evolution of TwinStream’s products.
You will bring together customer needs, business opportunities, technical insight and delivery experience to create a clear, coherent product direction. Working across engineering, architecture, delivery, platform, service and commercial teams, you will ensure that product decisions deliver meaningful outcomes while strengthening the long-term value, usability and sustainability of our products.
This is not simply a backlog-management role. You will be responsible for understanding the problems that matter, defining the outcomes we need to achieve and helping teams make informed decisions about where to invest.
You will champion reusable, configurable product capabilities over unnecessary customer-specific solutions and help make our products progressively easier to understand, adopt, deploy, operate, support and extend.
Responsibilities
Product vision and strategy:
- Own and communicate a clear product vision, strategy and roadmap.
- Translate customer, user, commercial and technical insight into prioritised product outcomes.
- Define clear product principles and guardrails to support consistent decision-making.
- Maintain awareness of relevant market, technology and competitor developments.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen and differentiate TwinStream’s product proposition.
Customer and market understanding:
- Develop a strong understanding of our customers, users, prospects & operational environments.
- Work with customers and internal stakeholders to understand underlying problems rather than accepting proposed solutions at face value.
- Identify recurring customer needs that could become reusable core product capability.
- Support commercial & business-development activity with clear product positioning and roadmap context.
- Maintain USP in Cross Domain space.
- Maintain SWOT analysis of the product.
Prioritisation and roadmap management:
- Maintain an outcome-focused roadmap that provides clarity without constraining delivery teams.
- Ensure the roadmap balances customer commitments, future opportunities, security, product evergreening, technical debt, operational efficiency and risk mitigation against market disruption.
- Prioritise investment based on customer value, strategic alignment, commercial opportunity, risk and delivery effort.
- Make transparent trade-offs between customer-specific delivery, core product investment, platform improvement and component evolution.
- Ensure priorities, dependencies, assumptions and decisions are visible and understood.
- Review roadmap progress regularly and adapt it as evidence, risks and priorities change.
Supporting delivery:
- Work closely with Product Oversight, delivery and engineering teams to provide clarity on the problem, intended outcome and product context.
- With the Product Oversight team, help delivery teams determine whether requirements should become core product capability, configurable variation or customer-specific delivery.
- Support shaping of initiatives, epics and features without prescribing detailed technical solutions.
- Provide timely product decisions and remove ambiguity that could delay delivery.
- Encourage experimentation, iterative delivery and early validation.
- Ensure completed capabilities achieve the intended customer and product outcomes.
Product coherence and sustainability:
- Protect the overall integrity and coherence of the product across components, customers and implementations.
- Reduce duplication and fragmentation by promoting common patterns, reusable capabilities and standard approaches.
- Ensure product decisions consider security, maintainability, usability, supportability, observability and operational cost.
- Champion automation, self-service and repeatable deployment and configuration patterns.
- Make product maintenance, lifecycle management and technical sustainability visible within prioritisation decisions.
- Identify repeated delivery or operational pain points and ensure they are considered for simplification, standardisation or Productisation.
Stakeholder engagement:
- Build trusted relationships across customers, engineering, architecture, delivery, platform engineering, service management and business development.
- Communicate product direction, priorities and decisions clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Facilitate constructive discussions where customer demand, delivery constraints and strategic priorities compete.
- Provide leadership with clear visibility of product progress, risks, opportunities and decisions.
- Create alignment without relying on hierarchy or excessive governance.
What we’re looking for
You will be comfortable working in a technically complex environment and able to move between strategic thinking and practical delivery.
You will have:
- Experience working as a Product Manager, Product Owner or comparable product leadership role.
- Experience developing product strategies, roadmaps and prioritisation approaches.
- Experience managing platform, infrastructure or technically complex software products.
- A strong understanding of outcome-focused and user-centred product management.
- The ability to understand complex customer and operational problems.
- Experience turning customer-specific requirements into reusable product capabilities.
- An understanding of product lifecycle management, technical debt and software evergreening.
- Confidence working with software engineering, architecture and delivery teams.
- The ability to make balanced decisions when evidence is incomplete or priorities conflict.
- Strong stakeholder-management, facilitation and communication skills.
- Experience translating between customer, commercial and technical perspectives.
- A collaborative approach enabling teams to make good decisions rather than directing all detail.
- The ability to communicate difficult prioritisation decisions clearly and constructively.
It would be useful if you also have
- Experience with enterprise, government, defence or other highly regulated environments.
- Experience of Cross Domain space.
- Experience in cyber security domain.
- An understanding of secure software delivery, DevSecOps, cloud platforms or service operations.
- Familiarity with product discovery, service design or user-research techniques.
- Experience using evidence, metrics and feedback to assess product performance.
- Experience working across multiple delivery teams or product components.
What You’ll Get
- Competitive salary and benefits package
- 28 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, with the option to buy or sell an additional week
- Annual bonus
- Income protection covering you for up to 5 years
- 8% non-contributory pension
- Private healthcare and life insurance
- Enhanced parental leave
- Flexible working
- Opportunities for learning, development, and career progression
- Supportive and inclusive team environment
- The chance to work on meaningful projects
