Product Manager: Vertiv

Job Purpose

This role is responsible for driving internal Vertiv brand sales and product processes in order to drive and achieve targets, acting as a bridge between Pinnacle’s Brand team, the Sales teams and the Vendor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Understand and implement Pinnacle strategy and policies in alignment with the Vertiv brand and product/s
  • Provide product support (PDF Spec Sheets, Web Info, Sales Support, Customer Support-Systems Integrators)
  • Produce and review reports and target tracking information
  • Engage with all relevant parties at Pinnacle and subsidiary companies
  • Ensure product pricing and product positioning is relevant and updated
  • Assist Sales staff to produce accurate quotations
  • Assist stakeholders with product codes, pricelists and costing
  • Maintain price lists on internal systems
  • Ensure all stakeholders are aligned
  • Provide pre-sales and post-sales support to Sales teams
  • Strategically drive sales and orders on active and aging stock
  • Manage web page product updates
  • Attend weekly Sales meetings and assist in resolving stock issues
  • Support the Logistics and Warehouse teams with vendor recalls
  • Process sales orders and purchase orders on ERP system from local and international suppliers
  • Assist in the operations and usage of the ‘order managing process’ to maintain service and stock levels
  • Manage and track rebates and incentives received from suppliers
  • Liaise with suppliers to procure, receive and utilize promotional funds and materials
  • Maintain relationships with customers to understand their requirements and incorporate these into the stock forecasting
  • Facilitate, organize and provide relevant product training internally and to the different branches
  • Keep up-to-date and continuously improve and develop product knowledge


Requirements

Experience and Knowledge
  • A minimum of five years of working experience in a Product Management environment
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Distribution environment
  • Experience in managing infrastructure or data center-related products
  • Understanding of power infrastructure solutions, including UPS systems and power distribution
  • Understanding of racks, enclosures, and physical infrastructure components
  • Basic knowledge of thermal management and cooling solutions within IT or data center environments
  • Understanding of logistics, supply chain, and warehouse processes within a distribution environment
  • Experience working in IT Sales will be an advantage
  • Retail experience will be advantageous
  • Commercial acumen with the ability to drive revenue, margin, and market share growth
  • Experience working in a customer-facing environment with the ability to manage key relationships

Skills and Education
  • Matric with mathematics is essential
  • Above average administration skills with attention to detail
  • Excel Spreadsheet knowledge in drawing up and utilizing reports (stock management, product reordering, aging stock, etc.)
  • Customer service and service quality orientated
  • Good time management
