ROLE
The Product Marketing Director is the point person for Propel’s market strategy and execution of go-to-market efforts. Reporting to the CMO, you’ll be the category and cross-industry voice that translates market trends, customer needs, and Propel’s capabilities into clear positioning, messaging, and field enablement that drives growth.

You’ll partner with Product, Sales, Demand Gen, and Executive Leadership to build a differentiated point of view of our product and ensure our story resonates with executive buyers across engineering, product, quality, supply chain, and commercial teams. You will also represent the voice of the customer while providing insights into the needs and challenges impacting manufacturers.

In this role you can expect to:

  • Become the Propel expert across all target industries, with deep knowledge of our product portfolio, differentiators, and buyer use cases.

  • Own our category and industry positioning, ensuring our differentiated point of view effectively communicates Propel’s perspective on market issues and how we help.

  • Lead market and competitive intelligence through customer and sales conversations, analyst relationships, and primary/secondary research; translate insights into clear opportunities and recommendations.

  • Deliver high impact content and collateral used by go-to-market, executive, and technical teams.

  • Own customer stories and proof points, including case studies, references, and win stories, to support lead generation and sales efforts.

  • Partner with Sales to be the internal “go-to” for strategy and other assistance needed to win deals.

  • Partner with Product Management to shape strategy, influence the roadmap, and convert capabilities into differentiated positioning and collateral.

  • Partner with Demand Generation to plan and execute integrated campaigns across sectors and buyer personas to build qualified pipeline.

  • Support Partner team with product and messaging input to drive joint go to market programs.

  • Support Corporate Marketing to ensure public content, such as our website, presentations and third party interviews, accurately reflects our point of view.

To be successful in this role you bring:

  • 10+ years of experience in B2B SaaS and/or manufacturing industry, with a preference for experience in high tech, medical device, industrial or connected products.

  • Strong understanding of product lifecycle management (PLM), quality management systems (QMS), and related enterprise product development and operations technologies such as ERP/MES, CAD.

  • Ability to work and build processes in ambiguous, fast-scaling environments.

  • Demonstrated experience developing positioning and go-to-market strategies that influence executive buyers.

  • Strong executive communication skills, storytelling ability, and presence with customers, analysts, and senior leadership.

  • Data-driven decision maker with experience using market insights and performance analytics to guide strategy.

  • Collaborative team leader who thrives in cross-functional environments and believes no task is too big or too small.

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience required. MBA or comparable advanced degree preferred.

  • Willingness to travel approximately 10–20% to company headquarters, customer locations, and industry events.

Location: This is a remote position that can be done from anywhere in the US. Employees local to the Bay Area are encourage to work onsite 2 - 3 days per week.
