Product Owner (1-Year Contract)
Position Overview
At Central Group, we are driving the future of retail across Southeast Asia through seamless omnichannel experiences. As a Product Owner – Front-End E-Commerce, you will own the front-end user experience across our flagships web and mobile platforms.
In this role, you will bridge customer-facing UI/UX design, front-end engineering, and multi-business unit commercial strategies. You will manage a dedicated cross-functional execution pod (engineers and QA specialists) to deliver high-converting, localized, and engaging web and app experiences across product discovery, checkout, localized promotion engines, and seamless loyalty integrations (The1).
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Omnichannel Experience
Lead the front-end product roadmap for Central Group’s e-commerce web and mobile platforms, aligning digital features with store-led omnichannel services (e.g., Click & Collect, 1-Hour Delivery, Store Fulfillment).
Optimize core front-end customer journeys—including Homepage merchandising, Search & Navigation, Product Detail Pages (PDP), Express Checkout, and Payment Gateway UI.
Integrate loyalty and ecosystem offerings (e.g., The1 point redemptions, cross-BU promotional vouchers) into frictionless micro-interactions.
Sprint Execution & Backlog Management
Lead grooming, sprint planning, and daily stand-ups for a dedicated engineering team (~10 developers) and QA team (~3 QA specialists).
Translate business goals and technical intake requests across multiple Business Units (BUs) into clear, prioritized user stories with rigorous acceptance criteria.
Maintain a healthy, highly structured Jira backlog, managing tradeoffs between technical debt, velocity, and commercial value.
Serve as the single-source of truth for scope decisions, acceptance testing, and release readiness.
UX Optimization & Data-Driven Growth
Collaborate with UI/UX leads to design responsive, mobile-first interfaces tailored for Thai digital consumer behaviors.
Define A/B testing hypotheses (using platforms like Optimizely or VWO) to constantly refine conversion rates, Average Order Value (AOV), and funnel completion.
Monitor front-end performance metrics (GA4, Core Web Vitals, page load speeds, drop-off rates) to identify friction points and prioritize bug fixes or performance enhancements.
Multi-Stakeholder Alignment
Partner closely with BU Leads, Commercial Merchandising, Marketing, Tech Leads, and Platform Product Managers to streamline technical intake processes and align release schedules.
Maintain clear technical workflow documentation (Jira Product Discovery, Confluence, draw.io process flows) to ensure seamless cross-functional delivery.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience
3–5+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Digital Product Manager, with a dedicated focus on front-end e-commerce, mobile apps, or high-volume DTC web applications.
Demonstrated success leading cross-functional Scrum teams (developers, QA engineers, UX designers).
Hands-on experience with modern e-commerce platform architectures (e.g., Headless Commerce, React/Next.js front-ends, Magento/Adobe Commerce, Salesforce Commerce Cloud).
Deep operational experience within Southeast Asian digital ecosystem dynamics (local payment gateways like PromptPay, local logistics integrations, e-vouchers).
Technical & Functional Capabilities
Strong proficiency with modern agile workflow tooling (Jira, Confluence, Jira Product Discovery, draw.io).
Deep understanding of front-end web performance factors (Core Web Vitals, image optimization, client-side rendering) and mobile UI/UX principles.
Solid experience leveraging web analytics tools (GA4, Amplitude, Hotjar) to inform backlog prioritization.
Soft Skills & Language
Strong leadership and facilitation skills; comfortable translating complex technical requirements to non-technical business stakeholders.
Fluency in English (professional level required); proficiency in Thai is highly desirable to facilitate cross-BU communication.
Preferred Qualifications
Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or Agile practitioner certification.
Direct experience in multi-BU enterprise retail environments or complex multi-brand marketplaces.
Prior experience with omnichannel retail integrations (click-and-collect, endless aisle, localized store inventory display).
