12+ month contract Product Owner role, onsite in Calgary, AB, hired as a W2 employee of staffing firm Lighthouse Technology Services. Day to day: owning and prioritizing the product backlog, writing user stories, running scrum ceremonies, and liaising between business stakeholders and dev teams. SAP experience preferred; CAD $70–73/hr.
Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Product Owner position! This is a 12+ month contract with good potential to extend and will be onsite in Calgary, Alberta.
This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C or subcontracting arrangements will be considered.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Create and prioritize the product backlog based on business value and customer impact
- Translate business requirements into detailed user stories and technical specifications for development teams
- Facilitate sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and stakeholder demonstrations
- Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure alignment
- Collaborate cross-functionally with billing, customer service, legal, finance, and other departments
- Make strategic prioritization decisions and communicate trade-offs when resources are limited
- Analyze customer feedback and usage data to identify pain points and drive product improvements
- Track cross-team dependencies to ensure seamless delivery and prevent blockers
- Resolve competing priorities and manage stakeholder conflicts diplomatically
- Ensure quality readiness by validating work meets acceptance criteria before release
- Monitor and report on product performance metrics and KPIs to leadership
- Maintain transparent communication on project timelines, releases, and roadmap updates
What You'll Need to Have:
- 8+ years of Product Owner experience in complex technology environments
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and ability to lead teams through the full delivery lifecycle
- Proven ability to make data-driven decisions and maintain a customer-first mindset
- Excellent communication skills with ability to influence technical teams and executive stakeholders alike
- Demonstrated experience managing competing priorities and facilitating conflict resolution
- SAP platform experience highly preferred
- Energy industry or Canadian regulatory experience a plus
- Product Owner certifications (CSPO, PSPO) a plus
Pay Range: $70-73/hr CAD
