JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking an experienced Product Owner to join our Technology team at American Financing. In this role, you will bridge the gap between business strategy, mortgage operations, and software development. You will be responsible for defining product visions, maintaining and prioritizing the product backlog, and driving key initiatives across our mortgage origination, processing, and closing systems to deliver an efficient experience for both internal teams and customer-facing platforms.
What You Will Bring:

2+ years of professional experience in project or product management; hands-on experience owning projects and tasks across all stages of the project lifecycle.

Experience within the mortgage space (loan origination, closing workflows, compliance) is strongly preferred.

Proficiency using product management tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps.

Highly skilled communicator with strong leadership skills within a team workplace. Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with business associates.

Collaborative, proactive, and self-motivated with an inherent curiosity to learn and a desire to thrive in an environment where priorities change as we learn.

Bachelor’s degree required.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist in building the product backlogs while helping define acceptance criteria and prioritizing user stories for teams in need of assistance.

Work with the business to understand existing business needs and build clear requirements for the development team. Help drive weekly prioritization and planning to ensure the right features are built at the right time.

Lead daily SCRUM ceremonies, perform product demonstrations for various stakeholders, and wear many hats to get the job done in an agile, fast-paced, and constantly changing environment.

Partner closely with mortgage teams (Sales, Processing, Underwriting, Closing) to manage urgent fires, handle low-hanging fruit opportunities, and assist the Technology team across various areas of need.
