The Opportunity
Join Gallagher’s world-class Product and Tech team, where you’ll help shape the future of farming through innovative, customer-focused software. As Product Owner in our Animal Performance & Traceability team, you’ll represent the voice of the customer throughout the software development process and help ensure our web and mobile applications deliver real-world value to farming producers globally.
We’re looking for a Product Owner with experience in agile software development to own and manage the product backlog, translate customer and business needs into clear development priorities, and work closely with R&D, UX/UI, engineering and wider stakeholders to deliver high-impact software solutions.
This is a permanent, full-time position based in Melville, Hamilton, New Zealand, with a workload of 40 hours minimum per week.
What You’ll Be Doing:
• Own and manage the product backlog to align with strategic goals
• Act as the key point of contact between stakeholders and the development team
• Gather, document and refine user stories using customer insights and UX research
• Represent the voice of the customer within the development team
• Collaborate with developers, designers and stakeholders to deliver customer value
• Help shape software solutions that improve farm performance and customer outcomes
The Fit
We’re after a strategic, customer-focused Product Owner who thrives in agile environments and can turn customer insights into practical software features. You’ll be confident managing competing priorities, translating business needs into clear development goals, and working across teams to deliver valuable, user-focused solutions.
To succeed you’ll need:
• 5+ years of experience in agile software development
• Experience using Azure DevOps
• Strong communication, analytical and leadership skills
• The ability to prioritise features, bugs and change requests based on business value
• Confidence working with technical teams, product stakeholders and customer insights
• A progressive mindset and passion for continuous delivery
