Product Owner
Description
We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Product Owner.
In this role you will:
Strategic Planning, Portfolio Alignment and Execution
• Drive annual and quarterly planning across Enterprise-wide AI Tooling & Digital Experience, translating strategic ambition into portfolio priorities, resource choices, measurable outcomes, and an integrated execution agenda.
• Partner with the leadership team and product directors to shape portfolio direction, clarify priorities, and align roadmaps, investment, capacity, and delivery activity to the most important user and business outcomes.
• Maintain an integrated view of portfolio health, opportunities, risks, dependencies, commitments, and resource constraints, anticipating emerging issues and driving timely leadership intervention where required.
• Bring structure and independent judgement to prioritisation and investment discussions by framing trade-offs, sequencing choices, dependency impacts, and implications for adoption, risk, value, and delivery capacity.
• Own the portfolio performance and reporting framework, connecting roadmap progress and investment to adoption, engagement, value, user sentiment, cost, effectiveness, risks, dependencies, and other relevant outcome measures.
Leadership Priorities, Cross-Portfolio Initiatives and Stakeholder Alignment
• Act as a trusted strategic partner to the leadership team, anticipating priorities, synthesising complex issues, and ensuring leadership attention is focused on the decisions and interventions that matter most.
• Lead sensitive, time-critical, or cross-cutting priorities that do not sit neatly within a single product team, establishing clear ownership, momentum, governance, and measurable outcomes.
• Connect product, design, engineering, governance, risk, and business teams, turning ambiguous priorities into structured plans, clear accountabilities, crisp asks, and coordinated execution.
• Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and partners, influencing without formal authority, resolving conflicting priorities, and enabling timely alignment across organisational boundaries.
Enterprise-wide Adoption, Engagement and AI Fluency
• Support the development and execution of a cohesive adoption and engagement strategy across enterprise-wide AI tooling, aligning product teams, learning, communications, and business partners around shared priorities and outcomes rather than disconnected tool-by-tool campaigns.
• Maintain an integrated adoption and engagement plan covering training, communications, capability launches, leadership engagement, and ongoing reinforcement, with clear ownership, milestones, dependencies, and alignment to product roadmaps and tool availability.
• Partner with learning and product teams to strengthen connected learning pathways, combining foundational AI fluency with role- and workflow-based training, practical demonstrations, and guidance on choosing the right tool for the task; identify gaps and duplication in existing provision.
• Work with communications partners to build a consistent, capability- and outcome-led narrative, proactively raising awareness of available tools, new features, and connected experiences through coordinated campaigns, reusable assets, and practical colleague use cases.
• Equip business leaders and AI Champions with clear messaging, adoption insights, practical examples, and shared enablement resources to support leadership sponsorship, peer learning, and local engagement without creating parallel programmes.
• Use adoption data, colleague research, and feedback to identify barriers across awareness, access, first use, and sustained engagement; shape targeted interventions and ensure colleagues can readily find training, support, and feedback channels.
• Assess the effectiveness of adoption activities through activation, repeat usage, workflow adoption, colleague confidence, and evidenced value—not training attendance or communications reach alone—and use the findings to refine the approach and inform product priorities.
Executive Reporting, Leadership Governance and Decision Support
• Own the end-to-end portfolio reporting and management information cycle, establishing clear standards, timelines, data ownership, and quality controls across product and delivery teams.
• Produce regular executive dashboards, portfolio updates, decision papers, and performance narratives that provide a concise and evidence-based view of progress, investment, adoption, value, risks, dependencies, and required interventions.
• Maintain the integrity and consistency of portfolio management information by validating inputs, challenging assumptions and anomalies, reconciling reporting across teams, and driving timely resolution of gaps.
• Translate reporting into insight by identifying trends, exceptions, emerging issues, and implications, and by recommending where leadership attention, decisions, or corrective action are required.
• Shape leadership agendas, governance forums, and decision processes so that discussions are focused on the highest-priority issues and supported by clear options, implications, recommendations, and required decisions.
• Ensure disciplined follow-through on leadership decisions, commitments, and actions, escalating material issues early and maintaining accountability through to resolution.
• Continuously improve reporting and organisational effectiveness by simplifying metrics, automating repeatable processes, and strengthening operating rhythms, information flows, collaboration models, and governance.
To be successful you will need:
Experience and Knowledge:
• Extensive experience in strategic operations, product operations, portfolio leadership, programme delivery, or senior business management, with a track record of enabling complex, cross-functional agendas in digital, technology, AI, data, or product-led environments.
• Strong product and commercial orientation, with practical experience shaping roadmaps, prioritisation, investment choices, adoption, value measurement, user outcomes, and portfolio performance.
• Experience supporting adoption and organisational change for enterprise digital or AI tools, including coordinating training, communications, leadership sponsorship, and champion networks across multiple products or business areas, with a focus on sustained usage and measurable user outcomes.
• Demonstrated experience partnering with senior leaders, improving decision quality, and influencing outcomes without formal authority across complex organisational boundaries.
• Strong understanding of strategic planning, portfolio governance, executive reporting and management information, organisational operating models, delivery lifecycles, risk and dependency management, and performance oversight.
• Knowledge of emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence and Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI/GAI), and how enterprise tooling can improve productivity, effectiveness, user experience, and business outcomes.
• Experience handling sensitive or confidential matters with discretion, sound judgement, and an appropriate understanding of governance and risk.
Skills and Qualification:
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesise complex product, delivery, organisational, and stakeholder issues into clear executive narratives, recommendations, decisions, and actions.
• Able to translate product capabilities into clear, audience-relevant messages and practical learning experiences, and use adoption data and colleague insight to shape targeted engagement that builds confidence and embeds new ways of working.
• Able to operate seamlessly between strategy and execution, using structured thinking and sound judgement to turn ambiguity into priorities, choices, aligned plans, and measurable outcomes.
• Strong analytical and reporting capability, able to define meaningful metrics, consolidate and validate portfolio data, build clear executive reporting, challenge assumptions, identify implications, and focus leadership attention on the insights that matter.
• Highly organised, proactive, resilient, and comfortable operating at pace in ambiguity, with the foresight to anticipate issues and the discipline to drive commitments through to completion.
• Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the confidence to constructively challenge senior stakeholders, navigate competing perspectives, and build alignment without relying on formal authority.
• Able to provide high-leverage leadership support through strategic planning, decision framing, agenda shaping, leadership communications, priority management, and disciplined follow-through, while maintaining a clear focus on strategic impact rather than administrative coordination.
