Product Owner / Business Analyst
Summary
Manage multiple client projects by translating business needs into user stories and specs, utilizing agentic AI. Daily tasks include discovery, backlog prioritization, and QA with dev teams.
Salary: $110,000 – $120,000 per year
10,000 Spoons is a fractional tech and marketing agency that helps start-ups and SMBs punch above their weight, backed by agentic AI so our clients get more done, with less, faster than should be legal. The AI does the heavy lifting. We need someone to do the thinking.
We're looking for a Product Owner / BA who can hold two or three clients in their head at once without dropping any of them; someone who can sit with a founder, work out what they actually need (not what they asked for), turn it into something a dev team can build, and then check it got built.
You'll be doing:
Running discovery with clients & asking the awkward questions early
Turning messy conversations into clear requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
Owning and prioritising backlogs across multiple client projects
Working with developers day-to-day: refining, unblocking, reviewing builds, QA
Keeping clients informed, honest, and mostly calm
Using AI tooling to move faster and knowing when not to trust it
You'll need:
Solid experience as a PO or BA on software projects, ideally agency or consulting side
The ability to context-switch between clients without losing the plot
Strong judgement, you can smell a bad requirement and a hallucinated answer from a mile away
Comfort with agentic AI and comfort overriding it
Clear writing and clearer thinking
The ability to self-direct. We're a small, fast team, not a bureaucracy
Nice to haves: Startup or SMB experience, technical background, been on the other side of the table as a founder or product person.
Flexible role. Mostly remote, with occasional face-to-face with clients and the team. Australian-based.
If you've got five stones and know what to do with them, get in touch.
Oh, and don't forget to write a cover letter as to why you want this job. No cover letter, no next steps.
