Product Owner

ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

You will be an important resource to the success of SES’ Digital Experience, including but not limited to the SES Marketplace, Mobile Apps and Service Management Portals, providing a comprehensive ecosystem where customers manage their products and services. Working closely with SES verticals, engineering, operations and support teams; you will build context, provide service assurance and execute flawless product delivery. In this role, you will be instrumental in facilitating the inception, development and testing of new features prior to each release. You will also work alongside Product Managers to appropriately spec new products and move them through our Portfolio Strategy process.

As a Product Owner, you will lead highly collaborative, cross-functional Agile teams that deliver against overall SES business goals and product vision. Utilizing Agile / SAFe methodology, the Product Owner will collaborate closely with Product Managers, other Product Owners, Account Management, Development, UX Designers, Systems Engineering/Architecture, Quality Assurance, Dev Ops, and other key stakeholders and represent the team in various SAFe rituals. The Product Owner serves as the voice of the customer to the team and the organization as a whole.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY RESULT AREAS

• Meet with internal and external stakeholders, to build context and understand business requirements that will facilitate the development, release schedules and test plans

• Evaluate technical documentation and business requirements, for each project, in order to determine scope and Universal Application Testing timelines

• Analyze design specifications and functional expectations to ensure specific test criteria, that you create with the stakeholders, are met to allow for a successful production release.

• Work directly with commercial stakeholders, OSS and BSS teams to ensure new features or products are delivered, and error free

• Oversee the internal and external engineer’s development, of support and technical documentation

• Craft through release notes and other relevant documentation prior to each successful release

COMPETENCIES

• Support and suggest improvements to an end-to-end development program with published cadences and management tracked via Confluence / Jira / Azure DevOps

• Lead the execution of test strategies in concert with stakeholders

• Facilitate communication and plan execution across functional resources

• Identify and communicate key development milestones and testing requirements in a timely manner

• Certify release candidates prior to code promotion enabling the SES future automation capabilities

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• ​​​A minimum of 3-years of recent, relevant experience in the development of new products, in areas that may include testing, requirements development and digital experience design for customer-facing tools.

• ​A degree in Business, Business Information Technologies, Telecommunications / Satellite Engineering

• ​Proficiency in baselining, evaluating and demonstrating how product development metrics are used to improve product delivery speed, quality and profitability

• ​The ability to build, administer and lead development lifecycle of products in Jira and Azure DevOps

• ​Project/program management skills

• ​The ability to understand the customer's business strategies to become an advocate for profitability on behalf of the customer

• ​Effective English language skills both written and verbal

• ​Shares knowledge, empowers and provides critical support to launch product on-time and within budget​​

OTHER KEY REQUIREMENTS / COMMENTS

• ​​​Led a previous applications development / digital experience related program in the Satellite or Telecommunications industry.

• ​Experience leading User Acceptance Testing efforts in Jira and Azure DevOps

• ​Designed and implemented a comprehensive testing strategy for a large software deployment

• ​Worked with different AI vibe-coding tools to deliver rapid prototyping solutions

• ​Experience working in experience design, journey mapping and connecting the needs of customer personas to value delivered through incremental product releases

• ​Existing SAFe Agile methodology experience​​
