This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Product Owner - Data based in Brazil.
As a Product Owner - Data, you will own the end-to-end delivery of critical data assets, ensuring prioritized information is available securely, reliably, and on time. You will bridge business needs and technical execution, translating use cases into clear data requirements and delivery plans. The role combines product ownership, data management, governance, quality, and technical squad leadership. You will coordinate stakeholders across business, IT, support functions, and global data teams to ensure consistent standards and successful delivery. You will also oversee data quality, documentation, access, observability, and compliance throughout the data asset lifecycle. Accountabilities:
- Own the end-to-end delivery of prioritized data assets, ensuring business-critical data is made available securely, reliably, and within agreed timelines based on the business-prioritized backlog.
- Track scope, commitments, milestones, and delivery progress, identifying risks early and escalating issues when necessary to protect agreed outcomes and timelines.
- Lead the discovery and design of data needs by identifying, documenting, and maintaining data asset pipelines, metadata, and use-case requirements across both local and global environments.
- Drive data ingestion and data asset development, coordinating scope and delivery with dedicated technical build squads while ensuring effective handoffs between demand and operational processes.
- Ensure compliance with architecture, security, privacy, and data governance standards by coordinating validations with relevant data, business, privacy, security, and architecture stakeholders.
- Maintain essential documentation throughout the data lifecycle, including data contracts, mappings, data dictionaries, high-level designs, approvals, and governance records.
- Lead and coordinate technical build squads to deliver standardized, documented, reusable datasets aligned with established data platform and Datahub standards.
- Ensure data assets are properly documented and accessible to users through the data marketplace, keeping marketplace information and access permissions accurate and up to date.
- Coordinate stakeholders across business teams, support functions, IT, and global data hubs to maintain alignment, consistency, and adherence to required standards.
- Own data quality for delivered assets by defining key quality indicators and thresholds, monitoring data observability, and supporting operational teams with root-cause analysis and resolution of complex data issues.
- Strong knowledge of data management frameworks and principles, with the ability to apply governance and lifecycle practices to business-critical data products.
- Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools such as Excel, SQL, Power BI, and Python, with the ability to translate data into meaningful business insights.
- Working knowledge of Databricks and Azure DevOps, with an understanding of modern data delivery and development environments.
- Previous experience working in international environments and matrix organizations, coordinating stakeholders across functions, geographies, and levels of seniority.
- Ability to engage confidently with VP- and C-level business stakeholders, explaining complex technology and data concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills, with a proven ability to work effectively across diverse teams.
- Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Autonomous, creative, organized, rigorous, and transparent working style, combined with a strong sense of teamwork and shared accountability.
- Detail-oriented approach with a strong analytical and product mindset, capable of balancing business priorities with technical and governance requirements.
- A proactive, service-oriented, and client-focused attitude, with a willingness to take ownership and turn challenges into practical solutions.
- CDMP certification is a plus.
- Knowledge of relevant data protection regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, DMA, and DSA is desirable.
