Discussion

Summary

Owns and leads the end-to-end delivery of Westpac’s Azure-based data platform, modernizing data capabilities with Python pipelines, Snowflake, Databricks, and Synapse while ensuring scalability, security, and cost efficiency.

As Product Owner – Enterprise Data Platforms, you will own and drive the roadmap, priorities and ongoing evolution of our enterprise data platform capabilities across Microsoft Azure, Snowflake and Databricks.

This is a highly technical Product Owner role, where you’ll combine strong product and delivery ownership with deep data platform knowledge. You’ll work closely with engineering, architecture, security and governance teams to translate business and technology requirements into platform capabilities, technical roadmaps and prioritised delivery outcomes.

You’ll lead priorities across cloud-native data engineering, ETL/ELT frameworks, data products, platform reliability, governance, security and large-scale data migrations. You’ll also coordinate engineering capacity, manage delivery risks and dependencies, oversee vendors and platform costs, and lead Proof of Concepts to evaluate new capabilities and provide recommendations to senior stakeholders.

Critically, you’ll need the technical depth to confidently shape and challenge solutions across Azure, Snowflake and Databricks, while ensuring the platforms remain scalable, secure, reliable and aligned to enterprise standards.
