Our multidisciplinary team - spanning engineers, meteorologists, physicists and software specialists - is growing rapidly and we’re now seeking a Product Owner to drive the next phase of development for our core software platform, NEXO.
The opportunity
We’re looking for an outstanding Product Owner to help refine, document, test and deliver high-impact features.
This role is ideally suited to a mid-career professional who is looking for a new challenge in an agile, scale-up environment. A high attention to detail and exceptional organisational skills will be key!
Reporting directly to the Head of Product, the successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional leads and in-house technology teams to realise our goal of becoming a global leader in energy intelligence.
What you’ll be doing
Producing documentation that helps the wider team to successfully deliver features and enhancements:
Participate in planning and discovery sessions
Translate initiatives into epics and user stories
Document and validate detailed requirements
Managing the product backlog and release schedule to maximise team efficiency and impact:
Curate the development backlog in Jira
Help to set, communicate and drive sprint goals and manage Agile rituals
Monitor progress and communicate with key stakeholders
Test and QA new features
Coordinate the release schedule and related activities
Expanding our understanding of key users and stakeholders:
Contribute to research activities, including interviews, surveys and desktop reviews
Help to synthesise, document and socialise key insights using a variety of methods including JTBD, personas, journey maps and job stories
Influence team priorities and the broader product roadmap
Identifying ways to improve and scale Proa’s product development practices:
Help to analyse data to gauge team and product impact
Refine product planning and delivery processes.
What you’ll bring to the role
5+ years professional experience working with SaaS products, possibly as a Business Analyst, Product Owner or Product Manager
Experience working with software development teams in an Agile environment
Excellent communication, collaboration and documentation skills
A passion for human-centered design and an interest in the renewable energy transition
Nice to have
Experience delivering complex, data-driven or technical systems
Familiarity with weather data, IoT hardware, or energy-related technologies
Knowledge of data collection, visualisation and analysis techniques
Scrum master certification
