Product Owner
Role Overview:
As a Product Owner, you will be responsible for driving the conceptual design of our products through the application of design thinking principles and incorporating user feedback.
You will be an active advocate of the product, demonstrating the ability to pre-empt the next requirements and ensure that all requirements work within the product vision and objectives.
Your role will involve empathising with users, defining and prioritising customer and business needs, and managing the product backlog to ensure the development team delivers innovative and valuable solutions.
Own the delivery of product increments
- Own the product backlog for your product or area, ensuring it is well‑structured, prioritised and ready for delivery.
- Drive the product design, collaborating closely with the Product Manager and/or Product Director to create customer-centric product features which meet user needs and business goals.
- Ensure that delivery is broken down into appropriately sized increments and releases, balancing speed, quality and risk.
- Act as the day‑to‑day decision‑maker for scope, trade‑offs and sequencing during delivery.
- Partner with developers, QA and business analysts to ensure a shared understanding of what is being built and why.
- Ensure acceptance criteria are clear, outcomes are understood and customer needs are correctly represented.
- Support planning, refinement and review activities, keeping delivery focused and unblocked.
- Champion good agile practices and continuous improvement within the team.
- Stay informed about customer needs and Jobs to be Done (JTBD), competitor offerings, and customer feedback to ensure the product remains competitive and relevant
- Represent customer needs in delivery discussions, ensuring solutions solve real problems rather than just delivering features.
- Validate that completed work meets agreed outcomes and quality standards before release.
- Act as the key link between product, engineering and delivery‑adjacent teams.
- Provide clear updates on delivery progress, risks and dependencies.
- Contribute to retrospectives and improvement initiatives to strengthen delivery effectiveness over time.
