This is a senior product leadership position responsible for translating business strategy, customer needs and operational priorities into clear product visions, roadmaps and deliverable outcomes. You will lead multiple Product Owners, Business SMEs and cross-functional Agile delivery teams to modernise claims capabilities, improve customer and partner experiences, and deliver scalable digital solutions.

The role will work across Claims, Operations, Technology, Digital, Product, Distribution and Business stakeholders, helping shape the future-state claims ecosystem and supporting the transition from legacy processes and platforms to modern, customer-focused capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and own the product vision, strategy and roadmap for key claims and business capabilities, aligned to customer, operational and strategic objectives.
  • Lead product strategy across a large-scale Claims Modernisation program, including the transformation of claims processes, systems, customer journeys and supporting capabilities.
  • Translate business goals, customer needs and operational requirements into user-focused products, services and technology solutions.
  • Lead and mentor a team of Product Owners and Business SMEs, providing clear direction, prioritisation and support across multiple workstreams.
  • Partner with Claims, Operations, Technology, Digital, Product and senior business stakeholders to define priorities and strategic outcomes.
  • Own and prioritise product backlogs, ensuring delivery teams are focused on the initiatives that provide the greatest customer, business and operational value.
  • Lead Agile cross-functional teams through discovery, design, development, testing, implementation and go-live.
  • Drive the modernisation of claims journeys, including opportunities to improve FNOL, claims assessment, decisioning, workflow, customer communications, payments, partner interactions and claims settlement.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify and digitise legacy claims processes, improving efficiency, automation, straight-through processing and customer outcomes.
  • Develop and manage implementation plans, including delivery milestones, resource capacity, dependencies, risks and budgets.
  • Ensure appropriate business readiness, testing, UAT and go-live preparation across product releases and major transformation initiatives.
  • Use customer insights, data and operational feedback to continuously improve products, processes and digital experiences.
  • Communicate product strategy, delivery progress, risks and outcomes to senior stakeholders through showcases, forums, stand-ups and visual management.
  • Build strong relationships across Digital, Innovation, Technology, Claims, Operations, Marketing and broader business functions.
  • Champion Agile and product-led ways of working, embedding a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and value-based prioritisation.
  • Support the transition from project-based delivery to sustainable product ownership and continuous product improvement.

Claims Modernisation Focus

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to a significant transformation of the insurer's claims capability, with a focus on:

  • Modernising end-to-end claims customer journeys.
  • Digitising and simplifying claims processes and workflows.
  • Improving First Notice of Loss (FNOL) and digital claims experiences.
  • Identifying opportunities for automation and straight-through processing.
  • Improving claims assessment, decisioning and settlement processes.
  • Enhancing integration between claims platforms, customer channels, partners and supporting systems.
  • Reducing reliance on legacy systems and manual processes.
  • Improving claims operational efficiency while delivering better customer outcomes.
  • Supporting data-driven decision making across the claims lifecycle.
  • Establishing scalable, customer-centric product capabilities for future claims innovation.
