Product Safety Engineer 1

Your Tasks

  • Determine project scope, develop investigation plans, and define specifications such as cost, time, and sample requirements.
  • Perform and oversee product safety assessments and component evaluations at client or TÜV SÜD sites.
  • Conduct technical file reviews, document findings, and prepare client reports in a timely manner.
  • Review product design, engineering, and manufacturing processes, identifying and documenting deficiencies.
  • Act as the primary liaison between clients and internal teams throughout project execution.
  • Communicate technical issues and project progress effectively to clients and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with global regulatory requirements and collaborate with subject matter experts as needed.

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Intermediate-level experience in product safety or engineering.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with standards such as UL 62368, UL 61010, UL1973, UL2580, UL 9540, UL 9540A, UL 2231-1/2, UL 2594, UL 2202, UL 9741, UL 3030, UL 1740, UL 3100.
  • Experience with industrial electric vehicles and energy storage systems testing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Additional Information

  • The anticipated annual base pay range for this full-time position is $65,000 – $80,000. Actual base pay will be determined based on various factors, including years of relevant experience, training, qualifications, and internal equity. The compensation package may also include an annual bonus target, subject to eligibility and other requirements. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package to employees, including a 401(k) plan with employer match, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave for birthing parents and 2 weeks for other parents, health plans (medical, dental, and vision), life insurance and disability, and generous paid time off.
  • This is a full-time on-site position based in Canada.
  • Occasional travel may be required for client meetings and oversight of testing.
