Product Service Engineer | Level 2 Support | Mining Operational Technology

Our client is a global OEM and recognised leader in mining equipment and Mining Operational Technology (OT). Their Brisbane-based Product Development Centre develops advanced technology that helps mining companies around the world improve safety, productivity and operational performance.

An opportunity exists for an experienced Product Service Engineer to provide Tier 2 technical support for sophisticated machine guidance and Command for Dozing technologies used across large-scale surface mining operations.
You'll have a direct impact on product quality, support responsiveness and New Product Introduction (NPI), with a focus on issue triage, technical troubleshooting, product service documentation and Continuous Product Improvement (CPI).

Working closely with Product Support, Engineering, Product Development and implementation teams, you'll investigate hardware and software issues, coordinate their resolution and help turn field learnings into ongoing product improvements.

This is an initial 12-month contract with a strong possibility of multiple extensions or conversion to permanent employment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Tier 2 technical support, troubleshooting and diagnosing hardware and software issues.
  • Triage issues from customers, dealers and internal teams and determine the appropriate support or engineering pathway.
  • Investigate and replicate technical issues and coordinate their resolution with engineering teams.
  • Maintain product service documentation and ensure technical materials remain current.
  • Support NPI service engineers with technical investigations, information and issue tracking.
  • Coordinate CPI activities, identify recurring issues and work with Engineering to drive corrective action.
  • Liaise between Product Support, implementation teams, NPI service engineers and Product Development.
  • Communicate with customers and dealers regarding technical issues and resolutions.
About You
  • A Bachelor's degree or at least 2 years' Product Support experience.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience supporting technology in an industrial, production or operational environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical and/or data-network faults.
  • Strong customer focus and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with customers, dealers and engineering teams.
Highly Regarded
  • Mechanical, Electrical or Mining Engineering degree
  • Mining Operational Technology (OT)
  • Machine Guidance, Grade Control or GNSS/GPS technologies
  • Command or mining automation technologies
  • SQL Server and TCP/IP networking
  • Microsoft client and server platforms
  • NPI and Continuous Product Improvement (CPI)
  • Project management experience
