Production & Fulfillment Technician
Position Summary
Display Supply & Lighting, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Production & Fulfillment Technician to support assembly, testing, configuration, packaging, and shipping of lighting products and contract manufacturing projects. This role is ideal for someone mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, comfortable with physical work, and able to move between production, quality control, sample handling, and warehouse/shipping responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble lighting products, components, smart controllers, samples, and large-format fixtures according to work instructions, drawings, photos, bills of material, or direction from management.
- Configure product IP settings and perform basic setup of network-enabled lighting or control products.
- Perform sample product check-in, including receiving, labeling, organizing, documenting condition, and routing samples to the correct area.
- Conduct sample product quality testing, including visual inspection, basic functional testing, power-up checks, configuration checks, and reporting defects or concerns.
- Support contract manufacturing work, including assembly, modification, packing, staging, and general labor for customer-specific lighting projects.
- Build pallets, crates, and protective packaging for large or fragile lighting fixtures.
- Prepare finished goods for shipment, including packaging, labeling, staging, documentation support, and assisting with carrier pickup.
- Load, unload, move, and organize materials, fixtures, samples, and finished products using safe handling practices.
- Assist with inventory organization, product handling, cycle-count support, and warehouse organization as needed.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas.
- Follow safety procedures and use tools, ladders, carts, pallet jacks, and other equipment appropriately.
- Communicate production issues, damaged goods, missing parts, failed tests, shipment concerns, or safety issues to management promptly.
Key Performance Indicators / Success Measures
Success in this role will be measured by safety, accuracy, quality, productivity, and dependable support across production and fulfillment. Expected performance measures include:
- Assembly accuracy against work instructions, drawings, photos, and customer/project requirements.
- Low rate of rework, failed tests, damaged goods, mislabeled items, and shipping errors.
- Timely completion of assigned assembly, testing, packaging, staging, and shipment tasks.
- Accurate sample check-in, labeling, documentation, and routing.
- Reliable completion of functional, visual, power-up, and configuration checks before product release or shipment.
- Safe handling of large fixtures, pallets, crates, tools, ladders, carts, pallet jacks, and packaging materials.
- Clean and organized work area, with tools, materials, samples, and finished goods stored properly.
- Prompt escalation of missing parts, defects, damaged goods, configuration problems, or shipment concerns.
- Dependable attendance, flexibility across departments, and positive teamwork in a small-business environment.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Strong attention to detail for assembly, quality testing, labeling, documentation, packaging, and shipment accuracy.
- Comfort using hand tools, basic power tools, measuring tools, packaging materials, and standard warehouse equipment.
- Basic computer comfort for documentation, labels, email, and simple product configuration tasks.
- Ability to work safely around tools, pallets, crates, fixtures, packaging materials, and warehouse/production equipment.
- Dependable, organized, and willing to help across departments in a small-business environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in assembly, manufacturing, warehouse, shipping, lighting, electrical, trades, staging, installation, or related hands-on work.
- Experience packaging, crating, palletizing, labeling, staging, or shipping large or fragile products.
- Basic familiarity with networking concepts, IP addresses, or configuration of connected devices.
- Forklift, pallet jack, or material-handling experience.
Tools, Equipment, and Materials
- Hand tools, power tools, measuring tools, ladders, carts, pallet jacks, packaging materials, pallets, crates, labels, lighting products, smart controllers, samples, and standard office/warehouse computer equipment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, bend, reach, lift, carry, push, pull, and work with large products throughout the day.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. independently and heavier items with assistance or equipment.
- Comfort working around pallets, crates, tools, packaging materials, and warehouse/production equipment.
- Ability to perform repetitive assembly, packaging, labeling, and material-handling tasks safely.
Compensation & Benefits
- $21.00-$26.00 per hour, depending on experience and skill level.

Work Environment
