Job Summary
The FMCG Production Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling all production activities to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality manufacturing operations. The role focuses on achieving production targets, optimizing resources, maintaining quality and food safety standards, and leading production teams in a fast-paced FMCG environment.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Operations
- Plan and manage daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules to meet demand.
- Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machinery, and materials.
- Monitor production output, efficiency, downtime, and waste.
- Coordinate closely with maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams.
Quality, Food Safety & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory standards (HACCP, ISO, BRC, FSSC, GMP).
- Implement and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and production controls.
- Support internal and external audits and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Team Leadership & Workforce Management
- Lead, supervise, and develop production supervisors and operators.
- Manage shift planning, attendance, productivity, and discipline.
- Conduct performance evaluations and identify training needs.
- Promote a strong safety and quality culture on the production floor.
Continuous Improvement & Cost Control
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Kaizen, waste reduction).
- Control production costs and minimize losses, rework, and scrap.
- Analyze production KPIs and implement corrective actions.
Reporting & Coordination
- Prepare production reports on output, efficiency, downtime, and quality performance.
- Communicate production performance and challenges to senior management.
- Participate in production planning meetings and operational reviews.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Food Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
Experience
- 7–12 years of experience in FMCG production or manufacturing.
- Minimum 3–5 years in a Production Manager or similar leadership role.
- Experience in food, beverage, frozen, or high-speed production environments is preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of FMCG production processes and manufacturing systems.
- Solid understanding of food safety, quality systems, and compliance standards.
- Excellent leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office.
