Job Title: Production and Service Engineer – Instrumentation
Job Summary:
The Production and Service Engineer – Instrumentation is responsible for overseeing the manufacturing, testing, installation, calibration, and servicing of instrumentation equipment. The role ensures smooth production operations, timely maintenance support, and high-quality technical service to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Production & Manufacturing:
- Oversee the assembly, integration, and testing of instrumentation equipment.
- Ensure production activities comply with engineering specifications and quality standards.
- Coordinate with the production team to meet daily/weekly output targets.
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions.
- Assist in preparing technical documents, SOPs, and production reports.
Instrumentation & Technical Support:
- Install, calibrate, configure, and maintain instrumentation systems.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on sensors, controllers, transmitters, analyzers, PLC-based systems, etc.
- Conduct diagnostics and resolve technical faults to minimize downtime.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Service & Client Support:
- Attend customer sites for installation, commissioning, service, and troubleshooting.
- Provide technical support and training clients on equipment usage and maintenance.
- Prepare service reports, calibration certificates, and maintenance logs.
- Coordinate with clients to understand their needs and offer effective solutions.
Quality & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of production processes, service activities, and calibration data.
- Ensure adherence to ISO/QMS standards and internal quality procedures.
- Participate in audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with R&D, procurement, and project teams to improve product performance.
- Support sales and technical teams with product demonstrations and technical clarifications.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field.
- 2–5 years experience in instrumentation production, commissioning, calibration, or service engineering.
- Strong knowledge of sensors, transmitters, PLCs, SCADA systems, control loops, and calibration tools.
- Experience in oil & gas, manufacturing, process industries, or instrumentation OEMs is preferred.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and client-handling abilities.
- Willingness to travel for site visits and service activities.
Skills Required:
- Hands-on expertise in instrumentation equipment and calibration tools.
- Understanding of engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with QA/QC procedures and safety standards.
- Strong analytical and technical support skills.
- Ability to work independently and in team environments.
