Production Assistant

The Production Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring Olympia Coffee’s roasting and packaging operations run smoothly and efficiently. This position supports the timely fulfillment of roasted coffee and merchandise orders by working closely with the production team on roasting, packaging, inventory management, and shipping. The Production Assistant is hands-on, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where consistency, quality, and efficiency are key.

General Responsibilities

Production & Fulfillment

  • Support daily roasting and packaging operations to meet fulfillment deadlines.
  • Accurately package, label, date-stamp, and seal coffee bags to order.
  • Operate weight and fill machines, heat sealers, and band sealers.
  • Blend green and roasted coffees according to established recipes.
  • Allocate merchandise and coffee to invoices for wholesale and retail orders.
  • Prepare and ship orders with accuracy and attention to detail.

Quality & Inventory

  • Participate in regular quality control cuppings to ensure product consistency.
  • Work with team members to track and manage inventory of roasted coffee, green coffee, and packaging materials.
  • Receive and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders.
  • Assist with unloading deliveries, including green coffee shipments (up to 55 lbs per bag, co-lifting as needed).

Teamwork & Equipment

  • Collaborate with the production team to troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Safely operate forklifts and other production equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment through daily and weekly cleaning tasks.
  • Uphold company standards for efficiency, accuracy, and safety in all production activities.
