The Roles: Production Assistants and Distribution Associates (Contract)
Responsibilities of the Roles:
- Follow packing and shipping instructions according to department guidelines
- Meet and achieve your daily goals consistently
- Keep up with department demands with fluidity and flexibility and ability to move to other rooms as required
- Supporting peers with daily duties and responsibilities while ensuring safety and SOP guidelines are being followed
- Practice safe work and identify any unsafe situations that may arise to the appropriate individuals
- Fluid and flexible to continuous improvement changes within the room/department
- Adhere to company and departmental policies and best practices for quality, cleanliness and health and safety
- Carry out general housekeeping and equipment cleaning duties as required
- Encourage and maintain a positive, respectful, and engaging workplace
- Respect and promote inclusion and diversity in the workplace
- Represent the ethics and culture of the Lush brand and follow all policies and procedures
- Personal CSA Approved safety shoes/boots with the green triangle must be worn at all times on our production/distribution floors
Manufacturing-Specific Responsibilities
- Assist in producing high quality Lush products
- Perform dexterous tasks including but not limited to: filling, pouring, and pressing product accurately (manually or with department-specific machinery)
- Pack products and correctly label packages
- Keep up with production demands and productivity targets
- Perform physically laborious tasks including but not limited to; loading/pulling skids, pushing racks, carrying bins of product
- Consistently meeting the hourly PPH (pieces per hour) requirements specific to your department
Distribution-Specific Responsibilities:
- Confirm accuracy of information on all shipping labels
- Stock, store and transport materials in accordance with transport regulations
- Conduct daily inventory counts, product rotation checks, investigate and reconcile inventory issues
- Load finished orders to their appropriate carrier and mode of transport
- Use floor scale to weigh shipments and record
- Perform physically laborious tasks including but not limited to; loading, unloading, sorting, and moving skids, products, and materials
- Use a handheld scanner to pick and pack orders accurately and efficiently
- Verify, receive and put-away incoming inventory of materials
- Pick in accordance with the FIFO method
- Stock and replenish shelves, racks, cases, and bins in accordance with the FIFO method
- Consistently meeting the hourly PPH (pounds per hour) requirements specific to your department
Qualifications:
Required:
- Able to do physical work for 8-hour shifts, on your feet and lift up to 50 pounds
- Capable of physical activities such as standing/walking for long durations, bending down, pulling, and pushing
- Flexibility to work within the Distribution, Digital and Manufacturing businesses as required
- Confident with basic mathematics, ability to count, including addition and subtraction
- Excellent problem solving, communication and organizational skills
- Able to plan, prioritize, and organize multiple tasks
- Open and adaptable to daily feedback on performance
- Reliable, consistent attendance, punctual and dependable
- Comfortable with reading, writing, and speaking English to communicate with peers/leadership on all platforms (in person, email or Google/Teams chat)
- Comfortable providing and receiving feedback
- Commitment to abide by and oversee health & safety regulations
- Commitment to abide by and oversee our quality and good manufacturing practices
Preferred:
- Flexible to work occasional overtime, weekends and holidays based on the needs of the business
- Mechanical, equipment, and process knowledge
- Manufacturing or Distribution experience in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, supply chain, or food industries
- Experience working towards targets
- Experience working in high volume production
- Accustomed to working in a seasonal, high-pressure environment
- Valid forklift certification
- Experience with warehouse equipment (picking carts, handheld scanners, pump-trucks)
