Production Associate

The position is an entry-level hourly position on the production floor. Employees perform multiple tasks throughout the day to ensure safe and quality production. Employees are responsible for packaging/banding material, load/unload material from machines and staging material. Moving material around the plant with a forklift and/or crane for production to run smoothly. In addition, employees may also be responsible for building arbors and setting up machines for running.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Package materials for shipment - Must be able to set up, make adjustments, and troubleshoot machines in order to maintain good quality and production. Track orders and tags. Follow Customer Supplied Manual (CSM) in order to match product with proper packaging and skidding.
• Move and stage material as scheduled for optimum machine efficiency. Provide machine support by emptying scrap tubs and ensuring lines are cleared of finished product. Locate material into finished goods as needed. Provide the line with needed materials.
• Collect defect samples and visually inspect material for non-conformance
• Perform multiple tasks to ensure ongoing machine operation.
• Verifies all packaging specifications are met and tags material
• Housekeeping: May perform housekeeping duties within the plant when necessary
• Other duties as assigned

Additional Duties and Expectations

• Consistent and reliable performance of the above-referenced duties and responsibilities, to the satisfaction of MISA Specialty Processing, is required.
• Consistent and reliable attendance is required.

Qualifications

• Able to operate banding tools
• Ability to navigate ERP system
• Forklift Operator License / Crane License
• Able to read a tape measure – English and Metric
• Competent in basic math skills
• Must be able to read, follow detailed instructions and understand English
• Understand and follow the quality policy and procedures – detect defects
• Must follow all safety policies and procedures
• Basic Computer Skills
• Communication skills
