Production Control Management Support (Welding Scheduler) - 1st Shift

We are actively seeking a Management Support associate to join our Production Control Department on 1st shift (core schedule, Monday-Friday, 5:00 am - 1:30 pm)

Job Summary

The Weld Scheduler – Production Control is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating welding production activities to ensure customer requirements are met while maximizing efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery. This role works closely with production, logistics, quality, maintenance, and supply chain teams to maintain a balanced production schedule and support continuous improvement initiatives in an automotive manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly weld shop production schedules.
  • Coordinate production requirements based on customer demand, inventory levels, and production capacity.
  • Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to minimize downtime and meet delivery commitments.
  • Release production orders and prioritize work based on customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with production supervisors to resolve scheduling conflicts and capacity constraints.
  • Monitor material availability and coordinate with purchasing and logistics to prevent shortages.
  • Track key production metrics, including schedule adherence, throughput, and equipment utilization.
  • Communicate schedule changes promptly to production, warehouse, shipping, and customer service teams.
  • Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and recommend process improvements.
  • Maintain accurate production records and scheduling information in ERP/MRP systems.
  • Support inventory control by maintaining optimal work-in-process (WIP) levels.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies, quality standards, and automotive customer requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned
