Production Control Manager

About the Role:

The Production Control Manager is responsible for all master and subassembly production scheduling and control activities for the Lafayette and Cadiz facilities. Position will facilitate Sales and Operations planning meetings and provide timely feedback to Engineering, Operations and Sales on schedule priorities and changes. Position must work to ensure alignment of key internal stakeholders and will regularly interact with outside RSM's and dealers to optimize the build schedules at both locations.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Directly manage a team of Scheduling Supervisors and their direct reports at 4 different sites, driving collaboration across functions to support Truck Body production business needs, as well as Upfit volume needs
  • Responsible for creation and maintenance of master production schedule supporting 4 different sites in different regions of the country. MS function includes capacity analysis/reporting, multi-site line balancing
  • Responsible for aligning the production plan and master schedules with manufacturing capability.
  • Troubleshoots capacity bottlenecks to minimize schedule changes.
  • Responsible for maintenance of production backlog. Provides accurate and timely delivery status and commitments to Sales. Provides performance metrics to production schedule and Sales forecasts.
  • Support SIOP process in creating a production plan that meets financial, operational and customer needs.
  • Analyzes key performance indicators and other relevant data to support decision making related to customer service levels, operational capability, and that supports inventory management goals
  • Coordinates with applicable functional areas to establish production control standards, budget and cost controls and gather data specific to types, quantities, specifications, and production delivery dates as required.
  • Support creation and sustainment of Truck Body scheduling transformation, focusing on schedule stability and developing standard work practices to support these and future changes
  • Other duties as assigned

Let's Talk About Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Management or related field
  • Master's Preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of Supervisory
  • 7-10 years' experience in Planning, Scheduling, and Materials for a manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of SAP
  • Microsoft Office -- Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Experience with ISO 9001
  • High level of Time management
  • CI and Waste identification in a production and office environment
  • High Emotional Intelligence required
