Production Data Specialist-Seasonal
The Production Data Specialist (PDS) is responsible for
ensuring the absolute integrity and accuracy of finished goods production data.
Serving as the primary point of contact for assigned plants, this role involves
meticulous review, verification, and correction of shipping documentation for
both Full Container Loads (FCL) and Less than Container Loads (LCL). By
bridging the gap between plant-level operations and corporate logistics, the
PDS ensures that internal systems reflect real-world inventory and shipments
accurately and efficiently.
To be successful in this role, an individual must be a
detail-oriented "point person" capable of resolving complex
discrepancies between physical paperwork and internal systems like IMS and VMS.
Success requires a proactive approach to communication, as the specialist must
bridge the gap between plant-level operations and corporate logistics to
maximize operational efficiency. Ultimately, the ideal candidate will maintain
a high level of accountability for data cleanliness, ensuring that inventory
and shipping records are verified, current, and audit-ready at all times.
Essential Functions/Qualifications
The responsibilities of the position
include the following:
· Act as the point person for assigned plants as
scheduled by Regional Logistics Coordinator.
· Stay current on plant shipping paperwork and
corrections for both Full Container Load (FCL) and Less than Container Load
(LCL) per corporate SOPs.
· Cross-check documents against the internal IMS system
and verify all product information. Resolve all discrepancies found in
paperwork and the IMS.
· Move verified shipments to the correct workflow in the
VMS and scanned documents into the proper OneDrive folders.
· Send daily paperwork and Bill of Lading (BOL)
correction emails to the plant and carrier companies as applicable.
· Work with QA and data checkers to ensure all samples
and LCL are properly documented and recorded.
· Maintain knowledge of the Load Plan, including which
products load together and the required container types.
· Monitor corporate shipping and plant data chats on
Microsoft Teams to address general queries. Assist with the creation and
maintenance of standardized shipping documents and BOL templates.
· Clear out the Shipment Builder and archive plant
shipping paperwork and photos in OneDrive.
· Monitor inventory and van records in various workflows
to eliminate false or empty records that impact auto-generated reports.
· Edit and correct label records for incorrect
information such as tare, gross weight, or glazes.
· Create records as necessary for unique sales orders,
such as sujiko or WASS.
· Assist the Logistics team as necessary, including
covering for fellow PDS staff.
· Keep immediate supervisors fully informed concerning
work progress, potential problems, and suggestions for improvements.
· Other
duties as assigned by the Corporate Logistics Manager or Regional Logistics Coordinator.
Requirements
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the
following functional and interpersonal competencies:

· Advanced
Data Integrity: Mastery of multi-system data reconciliation (IMS/VMS) to ensure 100% accuracy
in finished goods documentation.
· Logistics
& Compliance:
In-depth understanding of shipping documentation standards, including FCL/LCL
requirements and Bill of Lading (BOL) compliance.
· Technical
Record Management: Ability to audit and "clean" system workflows by identifying false
records, empty van entries, and incorrect label data (tare, gross weight, etc.).
· Process
Optimization: Skilled in
developing and maintaining standardized shipping templates and SOPs to enhance
seasonal operational readiness.
· Inventory
Control: Proficiency
in managing complex sales order records and ensuring all physical samples match
digital inventory logs.
Interpersonal
· Strategic Coordination: Ability to synchronize operations between plant-level personnel and corporate
stakeholders to maximize overall efficiency.
· Conflict & Error Resolution: Professionalism in identifying discrepancies and communicating necessary
corrections to both internal teams and external carriers.
· Real-Time Collaborative Problem-Solving: Active engagement in digital communication platforms (Microsoft Teams) to
monitor shipping chats and resolve queries instantly.
· Adaptive Team Support: Flexibility to manage personal plant assignments while providing essential
coverage for peers and assisting the broader Logistics team.
· Proactive Upward Communication: Commitment to transparency by keeping leadership informed of potential work
problems and suggesting improved methodologies.
Education and
Experience
· Previous experience in a data-intensive logistics or
production role, specifically handling shipping documentation and inventory
management.
· High proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, particularly
OneDrive for archiving and Teams for corporate communication.
· Knowledge of seafood production terminology (e.g.,
glazes, sujiko, WASS) and load planning is preferred.
Work Environment and Schedule
Some in-person training be required but will be primarily remote. The
work schedule is highly dependent on processing but requires long hours &
constant availability during the processing season. Actual work hours will be
determined by the Regional Logistics Coordinator.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of
this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger,
handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand,
walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The
employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
Mental Activities
The employee is frequently required to use
interpersonal and teamwork skills. The employee needs to be able to discern
details on official paperwork and investigate discrepancies as required. The
employee needs to regularly demonstrate attention to detail. The employee is
occasionally required to use creativity, independent judgment, discretion, and
problem analysis.
