The Defense team at Leidos currently has an opening for a Production Electrical Technician to work in Chesapeake, VA.

Job summary:

Perform electrical panel, instrument and cable assembly fabrication; perform factory acceptance testing of the equipment (440VAC); in an ISO:9001-2015 environment for the production of Navy Environmental Equipment to ensure efficient, safe, and on-time delivery of quality products.

Primary Responsibilities.

  • Follow and provide feedback on production schedules, monitor workflow, and perform electrical and mechanical assembly of equipment
  • Coordinate activity of electricians assigned to production to meet delivery schedules.
  • Perform quality inspections and Factory Acceptance Testing to ensure manufactured products meet quality standards
  • (As required) Travel to field sites to provide shipboard installation support/troubleshooting and/or participate with NSWC ISEA or Solid Waste Equipment grooms.
  • Complete production records, verifying test results are accurate and conform to contract requirements
  • Maintain reports and objective quality evidence of production in required electronic file format
  • Assist with material identification/inventory/kitting for production efforts
  • Identify production issues, recommend solutions to keep operations running smoothly, efficiently, and continuously

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • US citizenship required
  • 4 years’ experience performing installation of electrical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret US NAVY drawing packages, MILSPEC requirements, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, engineering drawings and component manufacturer cut-sheets.
  • Copper termination and UL508A experience.

Preferred Qualifications.

  • IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 Quality requirements, processes, and documentation
  • 1-2 years’ experience in leading small teams performing production, manufacturing, assembly, construction, or related technical role

Pay Range $48,100.00 - $86,950.00
