Production Engineer – Ambulance & Special-Purpose Vehicles

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Production Engineer to manage and coordinate the manufacturing, assembly and conversion of ambulances, mobile clinics and other special-purpose vehicles. Reporting to the Production Manager, the role will ensure that engineering designs and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) are translated into safe, efficient and high-quality production processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate and monitor vehicle manufacturing, assembly and conversion activities.

  • Translate approved drawings, specifications and BOQs into production plans and workflows.

  • Oversee vehicle body modifications and the integration of mechanical, electrical and medical systems.

  • Allocate work, monitor production schedules and ensure timely completion of projects.

  • Coordinate with design, procurement, assembly and quality teams to resolve technical and production issues.

  • Ensure materials, components and equipment meet approved specifications.

  • Identify production bottlenecks and implement process improvements.

  • Conduct production inspections and maintain accurate technical and progress records.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable automotive, ambulance, quality and occupational safety standards.

  • Support testing, final inspection and handover of completed vehicles.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Production, Mechanical, Automotive, Mechatronics or a related engineering discipline.

  • Relevant experience in ambulance, automotive, commercial vehicle or special-purpose vehicle manufacturing.

  • Practical knowledge of vehicle body fabrication, assembly, electrical integration and mechanical systems.

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and BOQs.

  • Strong production planning, problem-solving and team coordination skills.

  • Good understanding of quality control and workplace safety requirements.
